I have a crack in my windshield that's beginning to spread. Is there a way to repair it, or at least stop its progress?

Thank you!

if a 50 cent piece will cover the crack, you can have them repaired, usually fairly cheap. Most insurance companies will waive your deductible for a repair instead of a replace as well, since some cars can have a very expensive windshield.

However, I think the Ranger's windshield is pretty cheap to replace, less than 200 bucks. that being said, the last time that I had a chip/ small crack repaired, I think it cost me 70 bucks, but that was back in the early 2000's.

You can "repair" the crack yourself as long as it isn't in the drivers line of sight... go to the automotive area of Walmart or something and there should be windshield repair kits. If you have a long crack that is going across your windshield you can go 1/4" or so beyond the crack as far as you can tell and take a diamond bit in a dremel and drill until you hit the center plastic layer of the glass then take the windshield repair kit and fill in the hole. I did it and it worked until it started spreading again since I didn't go far enough past the crack when I drilled it...

When I had the Ranger's glass replaced it was $150 I think, that was 6 years ago I think.
