Work on the truck has been going slow lately due to work.
I got my fuel system ordered and plumbed. I put the fuel cell where the spare tire used to sit. I like how the AN fittings ended up visible from behind the truck.

AEM Wideband controller

Inline fuel pump.

Russell makes AN to LS fuel rail adapters.

My harness and ECU is ready to go. I sold the MegaSquirt and went with a MicroSquirt setup. The micro fits my needs better.

The only pic I had was pretty dark but here's a shot of the sump. I have to pull the bed to finish welding the mounts. I'll take better pics then.

Started it for the first time. I was pretty excited it fired right up. Just down to exhaust, driveshaft and some misc wiring.

It revved high due to a large vacuum leak caused by no egr tube

I guess the video didn't load properly from my phone. I'll try again. It's now wired and starts with the key.
I also ran into a little problem when connecting the ECU to my laptop for the first time the tune got corrupted and wouldn't run right. I had to fix some settings and reload the tune and it's working now.

Random question: does the motor fit with stock headers between frame rails without interfering with anything? Reason I ask is because I'm thinking of putting a 4.8 in my 94 4x4 ranger prerunner and need it yo pass smog(gotta love Cali bs). Trying to see if its even possible to get it to fit. I know custom motor mounts transfer case and transmission mounts and cross members are needed. Just want to know what the width with stock headers is and if it will even be possible to get it to fit.

No, the engine will not fit between the frame rails with the stock manifolds on it. I thought I had a picture, but it must have went poof with my last iPhone. This is what it looks like with the engine centered in the frame, without manifolds.

Also, the driver manifold completely blocks the path between steering column and steering gear. I had problems with the heater case interfering with the passenger valve cover/coil pack as well.

I wonder if using some form of corvett or body or to headers would work as I have heard they are factory block huggers. Do you think that would work at all?

Completely forgot about this thread. Truck runs and drives. I'm currently waiting on my aluminum rad to be done. Probably Thursday.

It's super tight and I had to make my own manifolds. I ran out of patients and they didn't turn out pretty but they work. LS7 manifolds are the tightest stock manifolds to the block and they wouldn't clear the steering shaft with the engine offset to the pass side.
