Did everyone use a stock throttle cable with the swap?, With the carb setup, didnt have the thottle cable hooked up to the carb but it seemed to bind when i pushed the pedel in because i have to twist the cable in like a u to get it in position right

83-85 Mustang GT 5.0 cable is what you want. I bought mine at the local dealer.

I used one from a 84 BII with a 2.8. The old carbed RBVs are a near perfect fit cable. If I recall I did have to use the other hole in the firewall, that hole might not be there on a newer than 88 Ranger.

I popped for the Lokar cable. It was about $90 but it's a perfect fit.

Stock cable on both my '83 Ranger and my '93 explorer. Worked great. Only had to fab a new bracket to relocate the pull point back about .5 inch.
