- Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Ammo is still way too expensive to be shooting as much as I would like to. I actually havnt been out in years 5.7 IS damn expensive too haha pretty much a buck a round for whatever it was I bought.. gunshop didn't have a great selection.. pistol ammo was pretty picked over.Back when I had more free time I would spend a lot of time and would go shooting almost every weekend. I would go on the gundeal subreddit a lot to find cheap ammo, they were always posting good deals on PSA stuff.
one of my AR receivers is a PSA, but most of their stuff seemed to be too good to be true pricing, so I normally stayed away. Harbor freight of guns.
Only really “cheap” gun I bought was a Chinese SxS “coach gun” with a 19 or 18” barrel. Fun to play with, but wouldn’t want to have it for any heavy use.
5.7 is not cheap, and you can’t get the real shit legally. Have a friend that daily carry’s 5.7 fn or hk. Got money though.
You're right though.. can't get the real fancy stuff legally. However... you don't exactly NEED the real stuff for the round to realize it's engineered purpose... you just need to be close enough.. which is well within engagement distance with a pistol.
