If you are computer savvy, you could try this. I think if you apply for the extended license, you could program the PATS. You would need a laptop and buy a cable and then download the software.

Yes you could, you would need the PATS module(above glove box) that is already paired(married) to the Computer you got from that same Ranger
Also need at least 1 PATS key for that Ranger and use it to pull out the ignition key cylinder as well, so you can put that in your Ranger so you can Start engine
Your current PATS keys won't be recognized by the new PATS module/Computer pair

If you want to pull the 2 door lock cylinders on the wrecking yard Ranger then you would have matched locks

I believe Forscan will allow you to pair a new PATS module to the ECM, but it's not something I've had a reason to confirm.

In Moparland security lockout is a dealer phone call.

Not sure how Ford's security system works though.

If its VIN based then theives must love that Mopar setup
"Hey I just bought this car, need the security code, here is the VIN", lol

Ford dealers do have key codes to cut new keys to unlock doors, but there is no record of PATS key's internal numbers needed to start engine
Even Remote Starts internal electronic key code needs to be programmed in like any new PATS key added

I have never used it myself. I have heard rumors it's a little hard to navigate. But it is free and seems to have a lot of power when it comes to Fords.

I've used it to wipe keys out of the system and start over with new ones. Just not to replace a PATS module.

I call it Forskin.
