In times like these I always remember a biography I read on Jim Henson, the creator of the Muppets, in elementary school. At his funeral, he had no black present, black is such a sad color, it sucks out whatever happiness anyone has, instead he had rainbows of color. Yes, death is a time to morn the deceased and be sad, but I like to think of it as more of a time to remember all the good times and be happy.

I never meet or talked to Chance, but I will always remember his comments, which were many times very humorous.

RIP Chance

I didn't really know him, but he seemed like a really good person. The world can't afford to lose people like him. RIP Chance.

Found out about Chance last night as I was meeting Mac (the other Dave) for the first time. He told me about what had happened, and I was completely floored. Chance and I had never met, never spoken. But I knew him from here, and felt completely gutted, like something had been taken away from me. Here is a kid that made me laugh because his sense of humor was so much like mine it was eerie, suddenly gone.

Still can't believe this little goof won't be checking in again:

Rest well, Chance. You will be missed.

Chance was 20. There's a good possibility that he didn't have life insurance. I asked Josh to see what the families needs were, but I'm thinking we should take up a donation for his family to cover some of their expenses and ease some of the stress (for a lack of better word).

I would like to set up a paypal donation this evening, take up donations, get it put in to a check, and send it to his family with a letter about his involvement in our community and how we'll miss him.

What do you guys think? How long do you think we should give people to donate before we close it and send the money off??

I have his address from his Premium Membership. I'll make sure I send it signature required to ensure the check makes it there safetly.

i agree with Jim on this.... Ive been thinking about this, what would people's thoughts of starting with the 2011 membership of raising the price one buck per member and putting it in a fund for when things like this happen?:dunno:

I know I haven't been active much at all on here or any forums lately, but I wanted to send me sincere condolences to Chance's family and friends... Chance you were an awesome dude and loved to shoot the breeze and always keep things positive.. Always looking some sort of comic relief wherever you went... I had the pleasure of meeting Chance at the Blue Lake meet last year along with Billy and he was such a bright kid and full of potential, and this sudden turn of events has left his path cut short.

R.I.P. Chance... Someone I knew so little, but someone I won't forget.
