1st gear will be nice on the trails.NP435? Interesting
Please document the hell out of this. I know Fox did this swap as well with success. I'd like to know how it works out for you (plus I like the thought of going 435 if the M50D ever dies).1st gear will be nice on the trails.
1st - 6.69:1
2nd - 3.34:1
3rd - 1.66:1
4th - 1:1
a zf would be nice, but i doubt ill be able to find one for the right price.Kage, the ZF is close to those ratio's, plus has an overdrive

Just use the NP435 and keep looking for a ZF. It took me 2 years of searching, but I found one for $75!!a zf would be nice, but i doubt ill be able to find one for the right price.
depends how i like the 435,1356,4.88's and 4D'sJon, thinking of a doubler??

the reverse will deffinantly be nice when getting stuck in the tight spots.I'd stick witht he 435, zfs aren't all they're cracked up to be. also, don't forget about that 8.26:1 reverse you get with the 435
im not going that far, i still want to be able to drive on the street.Hmm, I'd look into swapping the first gear clusters with the reverse gear clusters....
SVT
That'd be difficult to do since reverse in a 435 uses the same gears on the mainshaft and countershaft as first with a two stage idler to reverse rotation.Hmm, I'd look into swapping the first gear clusters with the reverse gear clusters....
