I think they are just messing with each other. I don't know if you caught the sarcasm, haha.

I've seen in other posts that they either live close, or know each other or something (74bronco2, and redneckdanger).

I have a couple D60's here for my old Ranger I've been wanting to put in, but have yet to decide on a suspension.

We have a salvage yard near me full of semi trucks. That's all the deal with. They carry new and used parts. I've wondered on occassions if I could go down there and salvage some air bags to use.
you best bring an air source and check for leaks because older wrecked semi's have all kinds of air leaks. I've learned the hard way because of my cheap boss...

Very very nice ranger! My only question, why run D44's on a 39's? I know the CTM joints and shafts are rather strong, but still. Awesome rig man. Hopefully within a few years here my brother will do his rockwell swap.

I ran the dana 44's because that's what I had and I tried to keep the weight down. I would like 60's but they are alot heavier and a whole lot more expensive to build. It is already about 4700 lbs and powered by a 4.0, it can't take too much more weight without swapping out everything from the fan belt back. I mostly run the 39.5's in the snow just because of their size. When they have 1/2 lb of air they have a good size foot print. I built the truck to run 38's normally and I have a set of 38.5 bogger's on the way for everything but snow wheeling. I have been looking for parts and brainstorming on installing outboard planetaries for rockcrawling. Depending on the gear ratio I go with in the planetary, the shafts will be stronger than dana 60 shafts. The only problem then is that it will be a trailer queen unless when I build them I can disengage them and lock the gear hubs in direct drive. It is still in the planning stage and may never happen, so we'll see.
The steering was relatively easy to make operational, but kind of a pain in the rear to make tight enough to go down the road. I finally found affordable and quality parts to make that happen. It goes down the road fairly well, as well as bias 39's can. I have a set of 35's I put on it when there is no snow in the hills or no wheeling trips are planned. They are much more pleasant to drive down the road for the daily driving. With all three sets of tires I have for it and the trial and error parts that I have bought for it I figure I have about $14,000 in to it.
