This isn't a Mustang forum.
It has nothing to do about being a professional in your field which I'm sure he his and I
Imagine he has earned it.
This site is totally different than all the other Truck/Car sites on the web,or it used to be.
People like Tony (and they are tons more) gave back every chance they had,not trying to make a buck, just trying to help.Thats what I think separates this site from the rest and when that goes Ill go back to surfing porn (more...lol) or maybe find a Bike forum to join.
Yeah, to sell something the buyer needs to have more information than "let me see how bad you really want it". And people shouldn't have to search to find out your location.

No one that has PMed me has not been given that info. I asked from the beginning to PM me. I'm very specific about stuff. I felt that was the best way to handle this. I've also had a couple PMs about this thread too, but thats another story :)

Also, I go to web sites to pass on or gain information, that's free; materials are not. Maybe you do things differently, that's your business.

I can sit here and tell you that I am shop foreman of the biggest, best, most successful Ford dealership in my region. That's all well and good. None of it is true. But this is the internet, where we can't verify anything anyone tells us about themselves.
wow . . don't live your life so doubtful. It must be a bummer to grow up that way. Not that I believe everything, but until your prove something wrong, give it the benefit of the doubt.

Along with working with Mustangs most of my life, I also taught. I taught Auto in a school shop for over 20 years, pre-Engineering, drafting, architecture, electronics, machining, etc, etc for the other years and some times along with the Auto. So . . have I had my share of young hard heads who "know everything", but really know nothing?? You damn right I have. But I do Mustangs ( and some other pony cars ) restoration exclusively now. There, know enough?? I have lots more, lots :)

Pete, you are still missing the point. This is not a silent bid site. That's what EBAY is for. Some post mention that they received no response. Other post are asking questions that you fail to answer. You, as a business person, realize, that your reputation is your best asset. I agree, that from your previous post you seemed like a stand-up guy. However the tone here has been very condescending. You mention young people several times. Many of the people on this thread are far removed from being children. Myself included. I think you have found an item that seems very rare and it created a lot of excitement and you would like to make a profit by creating a buzz for it. Step back a moment and read the entire thread. Admittedly, I have posted 3 times now after contentious responses. As neat as a Sherrod is. Most would still do something different. It's a cool set of pieces that I would love for someone to get some use out of. Maybe it's just a different mindset on here. Whenever someone ask for help. People on here step up. When someone ask for parts, even those that are not listed in the sales post. Someone usually responds with a price and details. That's what is rubbing people raw here. You are not being that direct. You have parts that you do not REALLY want. And it does seem like a tease. How many times over the years has someone sold you a part under its value , or even gave it to you? How many times did you pay more than fair value for an item? RIGHT, it works both ways everyday. Now consider this. You can slap a price on it, whatever it is. People can pay or not. Or take it to EBAY!! The point is if you want to sell it. Price it and do it.

Thanks Will. I don't think I'm missing the point, I just see the point differently. We are different people, no more no less. When I see behavior that I feel isn't right, I say so. I wear everything on my sleeve, in daily life as well. When I retired from teaching, my principal told the staff that he could " always expect an honest answer from Pete" . . that's me.
As for a silent bid, no that wasn't/isn't what I am doing. I did not play one offer off of another, that is what bidding is. I was open to an offer and if I liked it, the pieces would be theirs. See the difference? I mean with many parts I deal with, there is an accepted price based on what things are "going" for. For items that don't fit that requirement, then make an offer. I wasn't kidding, teasing or anything like that. I would sell it if I liked the offer, plain and simple.
Most vehicles I buy, I buy like that. I make an offer and if its accepted I own the vehicle. If not, I can walk away or make another bid. I don't curse the owner or make immature comments. He owns it, he can do what he wants. I have been a big ebay seller for 10 or more years. I thought I would offer it to the people who showed so much interest. It's respectful that way . . but hey ,I don't need the money. I could keep it for 20 years or more. I have so many personal projects ( if I told you all my vehicles, you guys wouldn't believe me anyway ) that I could really see it never happening on my end. So I thought I would throw it up if someone wanted it. Oh well, I tried :)

Other than maybe not the kind of sale they want on this forum I see it as a difference between bidding and sniping. I bid what I'd like to pay to get a deal and may get outbid. I snipe what I am actually willing to pay and have a better chance of getting it without driving the price up for the actual winner. Sorry to beat a dead bronco but I'm still hoping to get more pictures.

a price woulda been awesome so we had a idea of what u would like as a offer, is all that needs to be said, if i knew you wanted 300+ (just a figure off the top of my head) i never woulda made my offer at all....to me if i want 300 for something and im offered less then half that would be a insult, just a around about figure of what u want is all we needed but u couldnt even do that

this guy is a complete douchebag attention whore. cool the parts are rare yes and cool he paid $100 for them. $125-$150 is more than a reasonable offer for an item he had absolutely no idea about. he makes a profit and someone gets a rare piece of b2 history. unfortunately when retards find something someone else wants they try to bend you over for it. Pete go back to your mustang forums where your so "well respected" or shape up your attitude and show a little respect instead of trying to rip someone off

Why do I always miss all the fun. :annoyed:

Spending too much time over on motorcycle forums I guess...

Here's the deal BROS. These parts are cool in that they are unique, but you could make some yourself, and make it look MUCH cleaner for no more than $100 in materials....

Just another classic example of what we in the industry like to call a mark-up for rare items, or the shorter term, a rip-off.

While it's a shame to see that this will most likely go to waste, you could do a better job on a chop top doing it from scratch.

Shame on all of you.

Shame shame shame!

Shame on the seller for not listing a price on a forum that requires a price. Put it on ebay man!

Shame on the REST of you (except those who didn't harass, disrespect, or insult the OP) for your posts. If you don't want to buy it, or think it's a rip off, it's simple... DON'T BUY IT.

If I was a mod, warnings for all of you! Now shoo!

They are children Koda, and they act like it. And given every chance to cleanse themselves, they show their ass again :) 'Tis true. But hey, sticks and stones children. Now for the adults online . . here's some pics that I promised I would take. It's called integrity and responsibility. And to think you can easily make these . . man , you sound like my old students Ha!

Look here:

and P.S. . . for $300 they would have been yours, but shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone.
