Jim, honest, $100. How you can say what a junk yard wants is incredible. I speak the truth.Maybe you wouldn't pay that, thats fine. Its your decision. I made the decision to do it. As for making fun . . hmmm. I stated my comments after all the negative stuff said to me. Go back and see for yourself.I threw nothing negative until you guys started. Too much. I will try somewhere else and see what happens. If nothing ,m no problem. And as far as funding my project . . um no. A couple lousy hundred bucks to fund a project?? really/ You guys totally missed on my intentions, who I am and what I'm about. Check out some of the Mustang sites I post at. See where I am held at . . . maybe then you will get a clearer story.

It is, what it is.

I don't think you're going to find anyone here that wants to spend over a $100 for them. It's not anyones fault what you paid for them. Everything has it's own value to individual people. But I can assure you that those parts have very little value to a salvage yard because there's no demand for them. They'll sell them cheap because they no they'll get $0.00 for them as scrap.

I wish you the best of luck selling your parts.

Try craigslist.

The fact that I inquired about them probably made the light bulb go off in their head, no?? At that point they knew they had something. As for the value . . who knows?? I surely didn't get them because of that . . just got them because they are neat/rare, little piece of Bronco History :)
I wonder what people think is involved in making parts??? I mean everyone wanted them when I got them. Make a mold, sell them, I'll buy some etc etc. Know how much work is involved in making molds?? And then producing the part and cleaning it up for resale? I have done some of this on a small scale. If these were reproduced, they could not be sold for less than $300-$500 IMO opinion. I mean how many could you sell? You have to cover all the work and expenses. See what a fiberglass hood sells for ?? And they sell many more of those than you could sell of these little pieces. Think it's harder to produce a hood than these pieces?? Don't be fooled. When you have done some work like this, making molds, producing parts, then you know.

Pete. Before you sell this would you do us a favor and put up some more detailed pics including the the underside so we could get a better idea as to how the molded parts fit to the body. Most of are too far away to be able to buy it so we'll be on our own to make something somewhat similar. Since it's not likely that I'll ever see one in person pics would be much appreciated. Norm

LOL!

He's not going to give you detailed photos. He wants someone to buy them. People won't buy them if they figure out how to make them.

once you pop the windows out of a b2, you have a nice spot to install most of the snaps for a soft top.

this is a cool item, don't get me wrong. but you are holding a part for a vehicle thats almost 30 years old, and is NOT a collector item. you can't even produce any documentation that this item is collectable. all records of sherrod conversions were lost a long time ago (in a fire, if i remember correctly). the cult following for mustangs is a lot greater than some poor folk (like me) that pay $200 to 500 for an entire BII.

also, if you read the rules for JIM's site (not yours), you have to post a location and price. this is not ebay.

you seemed like a cool guy up until this thread. people inquired for info based on the RULES FOR THIS WEBSITE. if i was close (which i still don't know if i am), i would have considered making an offer. after this, you could post a video of you running over these parts with a semi, and i could care less. i've watched a build of a sherrod (the whole rig) on this site, that turned into lost cause that was probably hauled off for scrap.

i have sold plenty of parts i didn't need, for way less than i paid. i had a rebuild done of my 2.8 (tow in, drive out) for $1200. 30,000 miles later, i sold the motor for $150 because 1, i didn't need it anymore, and 2, because i was helping out a guy that needed his rig so he could get to work.

i know mustangs, and you are arrogant. i am done with you, and this thread. i wish you the best with your projects, and i hope you come to your senses and either use this item, or sell it to someone that will, without ripping them off.

Norm, a reasonable request and tone . . . . I have no problem showing you pics, none at all. I'll have to take back side pics as that isn't the kind of pic I took when I got them. Give me a couple days.

Here's a funny story Tony and others . . I had a man drive almost 2 hours in one direction to visit my shop today. I had spoken with him once on the phone about doing some extensive work on his '65 Mustang Convertible. Its was originally bought by his father in '65, neat story and car. It didn't take long to figure him out, very carefull; brought typed questions he wanted to ask me :) Doesn't want new chrome pieces, wants his old pieces rechromed. Get the idea?? He stayed about an hour, then drove the 2 hours back to his job. He did some checking on me prior to our phone call, by looking at pics online of cars I've done, he spoke to a couple previous customers, etc. But he wanted to meet me in person before he turned over the family heirloom to be torn apart. The car is family. Anyway, after our meeting today, meeting me face to face, talking about cars etc . . he left by saying " put me on the schedule, I want you to do my car". Nice story huh?? Its 100% true . . but you have had enough of me from here huh?? Too funny. I make my mark I guess, you like it or you don't. But hey, face to face is best huh?? Here's some advice, don't be hasty to make judgments online . . there's no inflection here, you know?

Cool. Still don't know anything about you or where these parts are. Sorry dude. You sound legit. I want to give you the benifit of the doubt. But there are so many ripoffs out on the net these days we all have to be very careful about those who will not answer simple, straitforward questions about who they are, where they are, or what they want for their product.
Read back through the whole thread. Take a deep breath. (don't forget to exhale) Answer the questions that you didn't before.
I am personally interested in seeing these parts inside and out, simply because I didn't even know they existed until you showed them. Thank you.

If I had cash to toss around, I might be seriously interested in purchasing, like alot of other guys here. It just seems like you're yanking the chain, not answering the questions....
The reality is, MOST of us will NEVER see this product. EVER. This is an educational site, if nothing else. I know I have learned tons here. (thanks everybody)
How about you (and everyone) settle alittle, and lets see the stuff, and tell us where it is, and what it will take for the few who CAN get it, You may set a precidence for any future examples. I don't know.
Thanks. that was my 2 cents.

These two excerpts fit nicely together I think.

You guys are barking up two sides of the same tree.

I thought it was established he was in Maryland somewhere in the thread?

EDIT:
.......i offered 125 and was going to drive down to maryland from nj to get it but i was not even close to what he wants
EDIT 2:

A little google searching will also show Maryland. From what I've read, he is indeed well respected on the Stang sites.

This isn't a Mustang forum.
It has nothing to do about being a professional in your field which I'm sure he his and I
Imagine he has earned it.
This site is totally different than all the other Truck/Car sites on the web,or it used to be.
People like Tony (and they are tons more) gave back every chance they had,not trying to make a buck, just trying to help.Thats what I think separates this site from the rest and when that goes Ill go back to surfing porn (more...lol) or maybe find a Bike forum to join.

That's great. But here he just tells us that he is "well respected" on "Mustang forums". He fails to provide details (the root of the whole argument here) about which sites.

I can sit here and tell you that I am shop foreman of the biggest, best, most successful Ford dealership in my region. That's all well and good. None of it is true. But this is the internet, where we can't verify anything anyone tells us about themselves.

Heck, the "PetesPonies" on Corral might not even be our Pete. My username at RPS is 87BlackXLT. When I registered it adsm08 was taken. Not saying it isn't him, not saying it is. I'm just saying.
