Last night the Highway Patrol pulled me over and told me I didn't have any tail lights. I had left turn signals, hazard flashers, and brake lights but no tail lights. This morning I found the bulb on the right side out and replaced it but still no tail lights. The fuses look good but I don't seem to be getting power at the "Y" connecter behind the bumper. Does anyone have a diagram or can explain to me how to check this connector properly?

I have that wiring diagram but I can't find a brown wire on the truck. There is no trailer "Y". Coming from the front of the truck there is a cable that ends in a "Y". From this Y the wire continues on to both tail lights and the license plate lights. The "Y' I am talking about is where you would add trailer lights without splicing wires with an adapter. No I have no dash lights and no front marker lights. Turn signals work, brake lights work, and hazards work. I have had the dash lights go out before and found the bulbs just needed taken out and put back in and they started working ?????

I found the problem, now I have to figure out who's A$$ I need to kick. It seems someone thought it would be funny to remove the fuse for my marker lights. I checked every fuse and they were all good so I was going to check for power at the fuse block and when I located the position for the fuse, I checked rechecked and though huh, there's nothing there. Slapped a 15 amp fuse in the opening and presto whamo the lights work! So like I said I'm going to have to find out who took it out and kick their backside till I tire myself out. Those fuses don't just hop out of the fuse block on their own!!!
