need help! not getting power to either fuel pump

hey every body ive got a 1988 ranger super 4x4 2.9 auto thats got a problem.
My truck will turn over but not start, so i changed the high pressure pump and filter cause is not turning on and that didnt work, i put a new relay on and that didnt work and ive got a new pump for the tank but i dont wanna put it in yet until i find out why im not getting any power. does anybody know were the inertia/fuel shut off switch is on this truck? i really dont know what to do at this point. thanks

inertia switch is under the dash on the passenger side right where your feet would go, on the firewall. check the wiring to the pumps for continuity as well.

I bet it is a bad ineria switch. I have the same truck with a 5 speed and mine went out on me. I unpluged it and jumped the plug from one side to the other with a short wire and it fired right up. I just did that to make sure that was what was wrong with it tho I wouldnt recomend doing that and not replacing it. You will really wish you had one if something was to happen.

so its on the fire wall and not on the heater duct like the chilton book says? i tried going by the book and i never could find it and ive checked the wiring to the pumps and im not getting anything

It's gonna be on the pass. side, probably under the carpet going up towards the firewall. It's there, just keep looking.

k i got the inertia switch off and i just ran a jumper on the plug in. and the fuelpumps still wont kick on does anybody have anymore ideas im plum out of them. thanks

How did you hook the jumper? From one side of the plug to the other? Make sure all your grounds are hooked up right. I know the one that grounds the engine to the fire wall will cause all kinds of things to not work right if it isnt right.
