Don't have time this morning for all that, but you can keep the same alternator you have now.

well i would, but when my compressors come on it lugs down my truck. so i need a bigger alt. im going to try and mount my ps pump on the 302 so the stock hoses should fit, SHOULD.
ok now the tranny thing? the c5 with the c4? will my driveshaft be too long with the c4 on it? have to shorten or extend it? will it go into the c4 tailshaft?

Your driveshaft length will depend on where you set your engine. Some are farther foward then others. You'll have to put it in and take a measurment.

ok cool. i understand that.

ok now should i run a vbelt or a serpentine? most alts ive seen come with vbelt... i know i can get a different pulley for it. but i know its just a belt it all works. i guess ill just run a vbelt.

now can i mount my stock ps pump to the 302?

I went with the accessory setup from an 88 Crown Vic. It mounts the P/S & alternator on the driver's side, & uses a std rotation waterpump. This is a 2 belt setup, using the serpentine style belts. The other belt drove the A/C and smog pump. If you don't use these, you can mount a second alternator on the passenger side. I rigged one up once, but never wired it. Just takes some minor metal working to fab a bracket

I had to make an idler pulley bracket to replace the power steering pump's spot. I run a modified full size Bronco serp setup. Here's a pic:

ok, are you running an elect fan as a puller? and did you mount your radiator in your core support?

im also wondering about the alternator. ok id like to get a one wire alt, just because itd be cleaner. but i can get a 100amp chrome one wire alt (but for chevy) for like 60 bucks... could i use this? i know the mounting points might be different? but other than that... why not? ive been looking for a one wire "ford" chrome alt the only one is on jegs for like 120 i think

The late 88-up Vic waterpumps are aluminum std rotation They'll work with either style belt. The Vic P/S pump screws right onto the Ranger hoses.

Nope. I run a mechanical fan to keep her cool. I used to run a Chevy alternator as well, but I already had the Ford brackets so belt alignment was much simpler with a Ford alternator. You can also make your own brackets to run whatever setup you want.

ok i ordered a starter (mini)

now for pulleys, serpentine or vbelt? if the vbelt gave a little more clearance i might use them, but i dont think they would. i found these serpentine pulleys though
