the ones from the same place you got your pullies are easiest to install. but your truck will be down for an extra day. some one might be selling a set in the parts for sale section. also.Humm.... I may give that a whirl for my next mod- any specific ones I should get?
Got my filler neck patched today with silicone, another piece of hose and two clamps. It holds and beats the crap out of $100+ for Ford hoses.
Averaged ~21 MPG before, short trips to and from work 28 miles a day.What's you city mileage with the pulleys before and after?
BTW:I seem to remember a company called DKY Pulleys...still in business?
Just filled up tonight- an all city tank- meaning no longer trips: all in town or my 14 mile trip to and from work with some trailer towing. 19.7 MPG, I'm pretty happy with that.
If I can keep my foot out of it and drive a little easier, I could probably do better than that.
The AirHog will go in soon, I suspect I may gain a little from it, maybe .5 or so. Can't hurt I don't think.
I'm with you. I've got a '02 extended cab auto and I think I'm only getting maybe 16 city and I drive like a old lady! Mountaineer, you said you got 19.7 city, I'd give my left organ for that!I wish I could get 19.7 mpg. I average 15.5 intown. Highway speed 24.5 cruising at 75.

That's a lot of the things I hear and what I've thought.
Here are some of the things I'm thinking:
Spark: No I probably won't get an improvement in MPG by putting in iridium but what about longevity? Of course I'll be using factory spec iridium plugs.
K&N says 9 more HP at around 4000 rpm. would that not make any difference in pulling the weight?
PULLEYS: Mountaineer reported good results. could I expect the same?
PLUG WIRES: The ones on there now are from the ford dealer. (I bought the truck used.) they are mismatched. (boots different colors.) could be losing some spark through leakage. if I'm gonna replace them might as well get the best right?
also roller rockers were mentioned at the beginning of this thread. what about those?
