There are 4 different 3.0 engines listed for 1999. We have discussed this before, you can possibly unbolt and change some things to make them work, but this listing is for a drop in engine, no modifications. For instance, I think the flex-fuel engines may have different size injectors.

I picked a early non-flex fuel engine. Here's one with not a lot of miles and a reasonable price.

yea, the flex fuel ones have 23.5 injectors, that's what i have. i don't want to buy one from a junk yard, they always say they test them but they don't. i have had to many bad experience's with them. i only gave 700 for the truck a few years ago. the bad thing is i had 3 engines with just over 100,000 miles on them a few years ago and got tired of moving them around and junked them. the gear on what use to be the distributor wore off. had to do head gaskets last year and fixed a bunch of oil leaks and put a new timing chain in it, i was going to swap in a cam i had made but decided to not to, i am going to add a relay and system that shuts off the engine when it looses oil pressure. they all should of had that system. if no one has one reasonable then i will dig through all my parts i should have enough to just build one
