Yes.

Blew one a while ago, then blew the shaft on the other side. It must have weakened the other hub severely because I broke the 2nd jeep hub in the parking lot about 20 feet from the trailer. It just popped and let go on a very gentle turn on a snowy surface.

Later that day I blew a stock ranger hub apart in a small stream crossing.

Wow, congrats on grenading a set of Jeep hubs. That's quite the accomplishment (or so I read). Gonna throw the D35 back together or do you have bigger plans in store?

I think I am going to throw some more hubs at it because I want to keep wheeling short term.


For the long term though........ I actually have a pair of D60s in my back yard....... Rear steer anyone?

Any qualms about running the rear 60 on the coast side of the gear while going forward?

Any qualms about running the rear 60 on the coast side of the gear while going forward?
Put a the front d60 outers onto a rear d60. That way your dif will still be in the center. and you can run on the correct side of the gears.

Well, considerint that the idea is actually more of a passing thought, no not really, no qualms. Though I am certain that I could find some one to trade a ford HP KP D60 for a Chevy D60 which would be the better axle for a rear steer application as far as drive side is considered.

The flip side is that your loosing the drive shaft clearance of the high pinion axle..... Not that you would know about that with your tiny little 108" wb :thefinger: haha, j/k.

Put a the front d60 outers onto a rear d60. That way your dif will still be in the center. and you can run on the correct side of the gears.
That is a good idea, the catch is that then you need custom shafts which are more expensive.




I have been thinking about my hub situation....... I think I might fab something instead of buying new hubs........ :icon_welder:
