Yep, he's parting out the jeep. Best decision he's made since he decided to get it...

Goat built buggy? What you gonna run for a powerplant? I'm pretty sure you'll be running superduty axles, lol

Dunno if it matters to u but trail gear sells unit bearings in 8x6.5 then just go to an e 350 rear 10.25.

I seen those. I will likely just take it to a machine shop down the street and have them redrill the hubs. Said 200 bucks and he'd do front and rears, that's also filling in the old holes. Probably not a Goat Built, although I really like that chassis. Most likely go with one that is pretty close to being done or done and just buy that. There is a truck I want that I am going to make an offer on next year if it's still available. Its pretty built in all aspects except the axles, its only running Wagoneer axles. I'll likely build up the super dooties later on when funds allow.

Been working on the truck when I'm not working on my Honey Do list, and starting to check things off the extremely long list.

I started by lopping off the last part of the old cage, then cleaning up the frame to get ready for the plates I wanted to add.

Next I added 3/16 plate to the sides of the frame where the crinkle looking sections are. No real reason why i did it, other than i think this will add a little bit more rigidity to the front of the frame where the bumper mounts.

Next I used the old factory body mount with the new bodystyle bushings. They are not the same, so I needed to modify the top of the mount to fit the newer bushing. I then added some scrap angle iron to mate the frame to the mounts.

Sorry for the nasty looking welds and the crappy pics.

I also got all the nuts holding the front clip tacked on so that if or when i have to remove the front clip, I don't have to drill out about a bajillion spot welds. (Thanks Rick!)

I got the passenger side of the frame cleaned up and ready for the plates, but decided to call it a night. I'll jump on it again in the morning. Rick (svt) is supposed to be here around noon tomorrow, so hopefully I will have this tedious little crap done so we can this ol gal fired up

Got her to fire and run for about 3 seconds. Then we found the fuel pump is locked up. Did get the front axle located under it, and the motor in place. Frame rails are plated, body mounts built, and now its time to mount the links and focus on getting the harness all cleaned up. Getting closer!

Still can't keep her running. I worked on it until school started back, but haven't been able to figure it out. New pump, new relay, new fuse, and still no fuel from the pump. Only runs if you pour fuel down the intake.

Motor mounts are on their way, axle is set in place, front clip is back on, and the doubler kit arrived.

1 more final tomorrow and then I'm done until the 6th. Going to try and get it ready before classes start up again.

Here are some pics

Doubler

Front looks like D again

Interior is all together

Is the relay clicking? If you jump power to the pump across the relay plug, will it run? Or just ground the relay and see if it works? Seems to me your computer isn't telling the pump to run or you have your fuel lines mixed up

Or is the pump running like it should?

Kyle, I've been through the system, the fuel pump is getting power to the pump connector. The pump was then removed and bench tested bad. After I left, a new pump was installed and hasn't been checked since. At this point I'm thinking it could be a weak ground, but its 5.5 hours away from me to check on...

exactly. I am dropping the tank, moving the lines to where the tank is on the ground and i can bench test everything. This weekend I think I will get it figured out.

work has begun again on D. Rear axle is pulled out, and relocated the perches to the right location, and got the axle ready to go back in
