Hi all,
I've browsed the forum for several years, and I thought I'd join now as I need advice. I have a 2006 Ranger Sport 2wd with the 4.0 L V6. I was doing my normal oil change and I noticed some oil leakage from the bottom oil pan. I thought that I would just need to replace the gasket. When I pulled the pan I found bits of yellow plastic in the pan that I believe are from the timing chain guide. I feel as though it would make more sense to just get a new engine than to pull the current one and fix the parts as it would almost cost the same. My Ranger has 180,000 miles on it so that's a factor as well. What do y'all suggest I do? Thanks.
