how much do you think a local shop would charge on welding something up like that?

that's what i thought, thanks.....second question.....where the hell do you find steel tubing? i have searched everywhere in raleigh and i cant find any steel yards or anything.


how much do you think a local shop would charge on welding something up like that?
we have a 4 wheel parts store here in raleigh, the guy said he'd charge me $20 to fully weld the spring perches on my 8.8, so i'm thinking somewhere along those lines, maybe less

i bet we do, i guess i just dont know where to look....when i was in school, there was a steel yard in montgomery (bama) that would deliver to us. you could get all sorts of different lengths/sizes/thicknesses as well as 4x8 sheets....got a nice discount too

has anyone ever thought of moving the stock radius arm bracket back instead of making new ones?

i'm thinking of reusing my old one and just moving it right in front of my tranny cross member

2" O.D. x 1.5" I.D. (.250" wall) DOM (A513-5) 1020 tubing to be exact (about a 20" long piece for each arm). :icon_cheers:

As for reusing the stock frame brackets, a problem is the downward angle they have after you move them, they are no longer on the slanted part of the frame (also they will only be as strong as stock). Anything can be done with a little fab work though.

and i wouldn't use the stock brackets. i'd make some that are a lower profile, stronger, looks better.. yada yada

anyone know if the duff eb arm brackets will bolt up to a b2? im getting some tube tomorrow from my dad who works at a steel fab plant.

Yup...too thin. Stick with 1/4" wall.
