so yesterday i head out to get my sister and i noticed my '86 2.9l b2 running a little rough, so this morning i go out and pull the codes off of the computer and i got code #89,86,95. the only problem is that my truck is not an auto tranny!! so i pull the kick panel off and take down the numbers(E8tf-12a650-u1a) hit google and sure enough it is for an '88 auto, my only problem is i cant find the number for the proper ecm that is meant to be in that truck, can some one help me out with some numbers?

Is it the 86 in the post, or the 87 in the profile?

an A/T computer would cause a slight difference in fuel economy, becaues the auto computer is not as able to pull the fuel from the engine while coasting and engine braking

AND

Would be "vexed" during diagnostics that your right arm wasn't responding to the 3/4 shift solenoid switching signal, but other than that would have no other effect whatsoever on the operation of the engine.

it is NOT the source of your "rough idle"

NOTE: On a manual trans computer if you close the throtle above a certain rpm the computer
"pulls" ALL the injector pulses. Hey, whatta you need fuel for while engine braking?

No fuel against a closed throttle you get far more effective engine braking.

On some vehicles there is a short delay (sometimes as long as several seconds
after closing the throttle before it shuts off the fuel and you usually feel this as
an increase in engine braking effectiveness.
