Looking good so far. Box in the back side of the Passenger beam. As for the cut on the lower ball joint. That is pretty much how I would do it. Make sure to cut the weld on the wings inside the beam. Those will help gusset the piece after it's moved.
I used a cut off wheel and a grinding disc to open my axle window. If you plan to use coils then look at how this D44 was modified. Could do something similar or you could build a box and space the coil buckets out a bit.
