Is that one of those tinted windshield banners you apply to the inside of your windshield?

I like what you've been doing with this truck. I'm watching to see how the front bumper turns out.

I don't think I'e ever seen anyone add Bluetooth to an old Ford factory radio.
It's just a vinyl banner on the outside of the windscreen. My girl got it for me from Autozone.

Yeah the bluetooth idea isn't all that original; I have seen a few other posts on other forums on adding a bluetooth receiver to old tape players and the like. I haven't seen anyone do it to an old Ford radio though.

I'll post updates on the bumper. :icon_thumby:

Did you start with a stock bumper and cut it down? That looks great so far.
Yes sir. That's the factory bumper for my '89. I'm going to pick up some 1/8" steel plate this weekend and get to welding. I'll probably add some D rings or something on the underside. We'll see :icon_welder:

Ha! I was too lazy to pull them all out to take a pic. I'll get them mounted this weekend.

I also ordered a NOS piece today. You'll have to wait and see what it is. :D

A big ol' flat bugshield would give it a great period correct look :icon_thumby:

Ever heard of anyone adding a USB input to a factory radio? I assume it would need some kind of module to know what to do with the music...

I usually just stick a thumbdrive in and play off that like a giant CD. Then I just pull it out a couple times a year to update it as I add new songs.

:bad:

Adding a flash media reader would require a... reader, of some sort. And a way to interact with it(Play, Pause, Next, etc). An easy way to do this would be to buy a simple $20 mp3 player, and then add a line-in to the factory radio like what I did before adding the bluetooth module.

The other option would be to add a something like this to the dash or center console, and then do the same line-in on the factory radio.

If you really wanted to, you could add an adrduino or raspberry pi and program the chip to interact with the factory radio LCD and Buttons. It's totally doable, but a bit beyond my computer hardware skill.

Me too. Going with the Factory look on this truck. I need to get some factory looking center caps as well.

Chrome.

Is yours supposed to have red centers or black? I would almost do black to match your D35 lockouts.

Red, being an '89 with a D28.

I actually painted my D35 Warn lock outs red to make them look like original ford ones but you can't see them in those pictures, because the dingus at the tire shop put the American racing center caps over the top of them. Facepalm. I was surprised they even fit.
