I started out with whatever battery I had with the 2.8, it was old and didn't last long. Then I went to a group 34 and ran that for quite awhile. Now it has a 65, not so much because of the power but my battery tray was shot.

I adapted a fullsize truck battery tray and they ran a 65 so I run a 65.

That's what I was thinking about doing, with the Explorer tray. My battery tray is solid with minor surface rust so I'll probably run it for now and put the Explorer one on the shelf for future use.
Fair warning, you have to have the fender off and ideally the radiator out of the way to bolt in the tray unless you have a limited clearance nutsert tool
