Okay so i grabbed the EEC relay while the truck was running(2.9,1988BII)and the rpm increased i let go and the rpm dropped back.So i pulled out the trusty screwdriver and gave the relay a whack,lo and behold the engine stumbled really bad and then smoothed out. After the engine smoothed out it actually idled better, the engine miss was hardly noticeable at all. This relay was replaced last spring and i double checked the connections in the plug so i swapped it for a used one and that seems to have done the trick the truck also drives and shifts better altogether.
Should the relay cut out when hit like that?

I also double checked the relay with my volt meter and all wires check out at like 12 volts or so(enigne running)but the ground wire to the computer was reading .10 volts.Does this sound normal to anyone. It doesnt seem quite right to me but the ground wire does travel to the ecu first before ground.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Not sure if that is "suppose" to have that kind of voltage or not.
here is a link to the electrical section of TRS http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/EDiagrams/index.htm
might have to search around a-bit, but betting info that you seek is there.

as far as the relay goes...for what they cost, better just to just replace them then to put great amounts of time into them.
