I bought a parts BII years ago. It was an 85. The only thing I regret now is not pulling the rear bucket seats. They were lumbar seats also. I've never seen another one.

And no pictures?? Shame on you!:nono:

I've thought about adding some low back buckets in, but you would loose the tumble and fold flat feature.:dunno:

If you ever have the rear glass removed from a truck, look closely at the opening and you'll find the "bosses" where the hinges were suppose to go. I too would love to see this done.

really you could do it plex isnt that hard to work with and form, i actually maid a mask for my buddy in iraq (army soldier) it is half ballistics resin, and 1"lexan, and it was really easy to bend and form actually came out really nice too. i dont see why it cant be made from plexi glass
I too believe that plezi glass could be a viable material to make something look decent and still be practical with means to remove. Someone just needs to start with project…..with pictures:D

never seen the manuals with the removable side windows, but could they be refering to the side windows from the Bronco 2 plus models? instead of the std B2 side windows?

I wish I could remember where I saw it, but I saw an online copy of a brochure that showed a guy removing the rear side windows from a regular Bronco II

The 84 and 85 owners manual will have it. There is pictures of the pages floating around. I don't remember where I saw them. May have been the Explorer forums. There is also a color brochure showing a red one and the dude is removing the passenger side one.

If AllanD has been looking to no avail, I say Good Luck.

That red one on the brochure is prolly the only one and it was likely reworked and bonded windows put in.

The bucket seats were themselves not special, what was special was the sheet metal brackets that the seats were bolted to.

they were fairly simple brackets because they had no provisions for the seats to be adjustable.

The tumble-fold feature of the bronco2 is overrated, cargo capacity?
Beyond a load of groceries how much room do you really need?

My issue was that every time I ever sat in the back of a bronco2 it was a cast-iron SOB for me to get out of the folding seat.
The seat bottom isn't latched down and tends to "tumble" forward
as you try to get out of it.

Frankly I'd put highback seats (gen2 ranger or early explorer)
or seats with headrests (Ala' Turbocoupe or Mustang GT)
in the back.

Yeah, "lumbar" seats are nice but seats with Lumbar AND adjustable side bolsters are even neater.
