No, I'm fully aware of what 0351 is. What I'm more concerned about is you being a Lance in January of last year, but somehow demoted to a PFC with 'Non marine' status now. Somehow in the middle of all this you've deployed twice, been in all night 300 round firefights, dropped enemy at 500 yards, etc...

I believe you are/were a Marine at some point. Of the rest of your story, not a word.

As you should know, 0351s have the highest cutting score, when it's not closed out altogether. And yes, I got in trouble, and got demoted before I got out. As for my last operation, do some reading on 1/6 as part of the 24th MEU in Garmsir last year. Also, you seem to be in the know, I have some videos that you might be interested in taking a look at, mostly motovids, but some regular clips, if your interested?

So you 'got out' past tense after being demoted, but you still currently run drills? Your story gets more interesting every time. Not sure what the cutting score has to do with you being demoted, unless you're making excuses for still being an active duty E-3 at the end of your term (before you got demoted).

Oh ok. No, I'm out, I run drills, well because I enjoy it. And if anything ever happens in the way of social or global breakdown, I'll still be good to go. The cutting score has nothing to do with me being demoted. And I'm not making excuses to anything.

Next question - how did you get out before you were 23 without being transferred to IRR?

Where is #3 at?

I ain't knockin' or anything, the only thing I have that could reliably shoot that far is my .50 cal H&R Sidekick muzzleloader. I ain't got a scope on it yet so I don't have any pretty half inch holes punched in paper that far. I can drill a oil bottle like no other at 60 though with the open sights. I did have a scope on it, but the hammer was nearly impossible to cock with gloves on so I took it off, I have since found a hammer extension but have lost the screws. Going to take it out this fall for early muzzleloader deer season and hopefully give the ol' 500 a year off.

My Mossberg 500 is practically good for about 100 yds, shortly after that the slug starts tumbling. It will go farther, but its accuracy drops off pretty quick and generally the deer have the afterburners lit by then anyway. Yeah it is a youth, my 6'-3" frame makes it look like a toy but I can't get a full sized shotgun to feel like "home". Pleasant pluses are it is lighter to carry around the wilderness, and it is more compact for handling in blinds.

My 1858 Remington pistol and 1851 Confederate Colt Navy/Army are good for about 30, and I can hit a foot square peice of steel pretty good with them (cowboy action style) I have to wait for the smoke to clear between shots to see the target, so I am pretty slow. Cool to shoot though, smoke, fire and sparks fly everywhere, probably the funnest guns I have been around to shoot (but major PITA to clean after every outing, and you can't skimp on the cleaning either)

Never shot my Mossberg 702 .22LR long range, so I got nothing there. Fun little plinker though.

I generally like the older style guns, I am thinking my next one may be a Mossberg 464 30-30, which would be my first high power. Shots over 200 yds for deer hunting are not that common, and since I don't see Missouri or Nebraska mounting an invasion force any time soon I don't feel the need for a tactical/assult rifle.

I was thinking that perhaps someone in his family was a Marine. Maybe he/she became KIA and this is how he's dealing with the loss. If that is the case I give my utmost sympathy and respect.

If not, dude... you've gotta stop!

Yeah, I was gonna say. I started a gun thread dedicated to guns...look it up and post them there....nobody has in a while. Pieces of my collection are on just about every page, and it's only a trillion pages long or so. :icon_thumby:

EDIT: That is, of course, if you do have access to the tailgate section.

While I love firearms I don't have any BUT am not to bad a shot, never trained at more then short range/indoor range though.

My second time ever firing pistol ,1st was 25 years previous 1 time. The target with the least holes was 28 rounds of .357 mag through a Desert Eagle the other 50 rounds of 9mm through a Beretta with a crappy trigger,a Glock that felt gritty and but mostly through a Czech Colt Commander clone (in 9mm). The clone was a sweet pistol and I think either coaching or a little practice would have brought my group from low right to center (or maybe just wear my glasses lol ).

We only have maybe two or three of the ones in the picture left.

But I've got a few that aren't pictured as well. I'll have to post one up of the current collection.
