Teddy, whose FEAD setup are you using ? Looks nice and clean, definately not Ford's.
That's just the typical March-style knockoff. But, I mounted the alternator upside down for that hidden look. Matches the location of the ps pump this way.
Here's what it looks like now, BTW. Dirty, but many changes...

Also, anybody know where I can get a pulley for a serpentine belt for the power steering at online got the FEAD that I plan on using?
Any stock or aftermarket Ford ps pulley should work.

Thats what I wanted to know. Didn't know that any Ford pulley would do the job, thought that it was kind vehicle specific, well when it came to size and whatnot. More to go browse the web for one.

Easier said then done. Its my only vehicle and want to have everything when doing the swap to get it back on the road and driving again. I'm literally 7-10 things away from getting the swap underway and affording the rest of the things became a kick in the butt due to the fiancees last job kick her and a bunch of other people in the butt due to they didn't need them at work and she got so few hours that I ended up paying her rent for this month which left me and her with basicly nothing for a bit and slowed the swap way down. If it hadn't been for all of that happening, I would have ordered more things and be almost ready if not be doing the swap this month. Thats why I am hoping members on here have stuff I need that they dont need and its just laying around and are willing to get rid of it for cheap.

Found an HEI dizzy on ebay for a good price. I did contact them way back asking if it has the steel gear on it and they said it does so it good for a roller block engine. The brand is high line and never heard of them but was just wondering what you all think about it. Simple wiring though I have all the duraspark setup running on my truck so wouldnt be a problem if I went that way if I had to.

Just wondering what you all think about this.

I can also get the samething with accel wires for a bit more but am more worried about the dizzy then anything.

As for intake if nobody has one that I need in for sale on here, may just get an edelbrock or one off ebay. Is there such thing as "going cheap" on a dual plane intake? Found one for $110 on ebay plus shipping new.

I bought one(red dist.) very similar for $45 2 years ago from jegs or Summit...was skeptical because of the low price.....but it has worked great/driven daily...buy basic plug wires unless you got money for the expensive ones

I also bought a set of shorty headers for $50...3/8" thick mounting flanges...they fit perfectly

My Weiand Stealth intake is $170 new, I would think a used one could be had for cheaper. And it isn't a copied OEM intake with somebody elses stamp on it like an Edelbrock... I really liked how it ran with it too.

Accel plug wires are $20 on ebay from the same seller as the dizzy.

I may look on summit and see what they have as far as dizzys too.

I also found some edelbrock 1406 carbs on ebay for under a hundred. May pick one of them up and rebuild it. Only thing is they dont have the throttle cable hook up on them unless you can take off the one on a factory carb and hook it up to it.

May go to the jy to see about a driveshaft and car hop to see of any may have a dual plane intake. Saw one at the pick a part when I went to my last ranger meet and now I'm :buttkick: myself for not grabbing it.

Clutch time.

I know that a ranger pedal slave setup will plug into an f150 trans slave, or at least the one that I have, external slave. But what I am reading is that an 84 clutch is 10 inches in diameter and has the same splines and whatnot as an 87-91 clutch setup but those are 11 inches in diameter. I found a great deal on an 84 clutch, which is what my year my trans is, but the only thing that I can think of is are the figures on the 11 inch clutch longer then the ones on a 10 inch clutch? I have read that some people have had problems with the cluch releasing for them and if that one inch diameter difference will effect this problem that other have had or not.

The 84 flywheel is the same as the 87-91 so all is good there. The only thing that I see is I lose that small area of friction disk for grip if I go with the 84 setup but spend $30 to $40 less for it too.

Heres a link to the clutch that I am looking at. Its the same brand that I am running on my truck now and have had no problem with it.

Okay quick question. Do the E6 heads have exhaust cross overs on them? I read that vehicle that came from the factory with carb engines have them, Mine was FI from the factory.

Hope to get a good deal on an intake soon.

Whoa there podnuh. Those clutches do not fit the same flywheel. The 11" fits a 164 tooth wheel, the 10 and 10.5 fit the 157's. Which flywheel does your transmission use ? Pretty sure it'll be a 164 tooth coming from an F150.

Yes, they do as did all SBF factory heads.

I just pulled a 10" clutch and plate off an F150 with a 300 straight six and was wondering about that. Since it was in a JY it might have been a rigged up set ups somehow I guess.

I looked up the flywheel for an 84 f150
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Fenco-New-Flywheel-Manual-Transmission/1984-Ford-F150-1-2-ton-P-U-4WD/_/N-iuxtmZ6o2oa?itemIdentifier=628831_0_9284_

Then one for an 87
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Fenco-New-Flywheel-Manual-Transmission/1987-Ford-F150-1-2-ton-P-U-4WD/_/N-iul0iZ6o2oa?itemIdentifier=628831_0_9284_

Then one for a 91
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Fenco-New-Flywheel-Manual-Transmission/1991-Ford-F150-1-2-ton-P-U-4WD/_/N-ittxiZ6o2oa?itemIdentifier=628831_0_9284_

And they all use the same flywheel, 164 tooth. Now when I look up the clutch for an 84 f150 I get two choices. The 10 inch one is for applications under 8,500 GVW and the 11 inch is for over that. The only other difference is the diameter of the clutch, all the other specs are showing to be the same.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1984-Ford-F150-1-2-ton-P-U-4WD/Clutch-Set/_/N-iuxtmZ6o243

Looking up the clutch for an 87 f150 the specs are the same but the part numbers are different and only offer the 11 inch.
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Clutch-Set/_/N-6o243?vehicleIdForService=204095752&_requestid=84030

Looking up the 91 clutch for an f150 they give two choices. But both still have the same spline counts and other specs as the above ones other then one is for a 4 speed and one is for a 5 speed but not knowing why there is a difference.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Clutch-Set/_/N-6o243?vehicleIdForService=204095752&vehicleIdForService=204095643&_requestid=85010

In the end, they all use the same flywheel, same tooth count. The flywheel for the inline 6 on an 84 f150 is said to be different then that of the ones on the 5.0 of the 84 and 87-91 but yet have the same tooth count, same diameter and same weight but they too also provide two different clutch sets that the specs are also the same on for the spline count that all the other years share and also share. But the two clutch sets for the 84 inline 6 is the same as the ones for the 84 with the 5.0, the part number match up exactly.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1984-Ford-F150-1-2-ton-P-U-4WD/Clutch-Set/_/N-iuxtlZ6o243

On the flywheel, they are all using the same tooth count and diameter and for the clutches except the 84 inline 6 has a different part number for a flywheel but shares the exact same tooth count and diameter as the 5.0 ones.

The clutches for all 84 that I have listed above for either the inline 6 or 5.0 have the same clutches other then the GVW being different for different 10 and 11 inch. But the inline 6 doesnt say that it needs to be specified spite the same part numbers.

So from what I have shown, it is seeming like all the parts interchange with eachother and I can use the clutch that I have found on ebay.

Only reason why I bring up the 84 trans is because that is they year of the one that I have and that I am using for my swap, np435.
