How are u liking the rear welded up for a daily driver use and would u do it again?
Going to be swaping my rear over to 5.13 in the next cople so it matches the front and so i can have my 4wheel drive back. Just thought i could save a cople of bucks instead of geeting a spool.

I have no issues with it. There is no driveability difference between the spool and a welded rear. It has to be done correctly though mine is the spider gears welded together and then welded to the housing.

I assume your rear is a FF D60 30 spline? You might smoke some shafts with a little larger tires.

Yea the rear is only 30 spline and if i do break it to often ill just swap to a ford 10.25. Plus i dont have the heavy right foot that i use too have when i was younger and the 3.0 is not a power house, so im thinking i should be fine for a while.

Go .120 DOM, I made a few and while not invincible it worked the best. My .250" wall shaft was heavy, hard to balance and you could feel the power loss due to rotational mass in the driveline.

Front and rear crossmembers are modded for the driveshafts to clear.

Snagged a couple of parts today. The new shaft is out of an explorer going to have it lengthened and balanced.

No it's a plastic tank I just drug it a little they flex pretty damn good.

On another not anyone know how close a 2nd gen explorer tank is to fitting over a stock ranger tank?
