My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I have 2001 explorer seats in mine. Pretty easy swap.

Thank you! Now that my truck is actually drivable and I'm spending some time driving, my butt really hurts!

youll have to pull the tracks off and swap them for yours if youve already got a split bench or buckets. If youve got a bench, youll have to source new tracks.

Kunar - can you explain the seat track process a bit? I had planned to do that so I could throw a set of Explorer seats in my '99 with a split bench, but it looked like you'd have to disassemble a ton of the seat to do it.

I think I read on another forum that the holes are there, but have to be tapped for the bucket frames I don't actually know.

It wasn't an issue with the holes, more that I couldn't figure out how to separate the track from the backrest without disassembling a ton more than people seemed to be indicating in posts I'd read.

Mine was a trade from buckets to buckets. The seat track is held to the seat with 4 screws. You have to adjust the seat forward and back in order to expose the screws to remove them. Much easier to do if you remove the whole assembly from the truck and turn it upside down (the seat. Not the truck).

If you look at the seats in my truck you would think they were from the explorer! I know one thing, my truck is getting new seats and I will find a way to get them in there!

Got the seats, are in good condition however the wiring looks like it came off the space shuttle!! have power everything sooo plug-and-play apparently isn't gonna happen, going to need Ron on this! I guess I can experiment and sign the basic function of of the seats with a meter. Photos coming!

Another thread (old) but photos don't upload

I've learned they have air bags?? Wtf! Watch apparently that is so yellow plug that I I'm not supposed to use. I'm actually at a zoning hearing board meeting tonight, we are fighting another halfway house in my neighborhood,

Think I did ok...
The seats in my truck have power lumbar and power bolsters and there is a plug under the seat but it's nowhere close to all the wiring for these seats. But two wires hot & grnd (that may be hard to believe) are at the top of the "ladder" (meaning schematic) in wiring

this is not new territory it's been done many times after searching the internet but of course nobody is quite as helpful as Ron!
