I think all the wires are local to the seats except a few. Power needs to go to a fused source on the vehicle, and ground of course. Beyond that, you probably have a connector for the seatbelt switch light. I'm not sure on the airbags, but if you don't currently have them I'd assume you could just leave those unwired.

Since you don't have the matching connectors on your truck to go to the seats, you could consider getting a set of connectors that only hold the number of wires you need and wiring those up. As one example, something like these:

Thank you for the help I have the driver seat in the basement where it's cool my backyard is like an oven because I don't have a garage. lwith so many priorities in life this just as another, thankful the AC in my truck works!

Grats on finding your new seats. The rain here is really making it hard to find good seats in a junkyard. All the ones I find are rusting and just total crud. Those you got look really nice.

I've had really bad luck at yards, this guy was on Craigslist with two explorers he was parting out,. I sent him a message for the plugs but guys like this are usually One-Shot deals I'm sure we'll figure out the wiring apps at some point but not today,

They're saying on another group all I need is red and black wires and the seat functions should work?

To the best of my knowledge that's correct. You'll still have two other wires to connect for the seat belt sensor however, which was why I suggested a 4 pin connector. Having the correct ones from the Explorer would be the easier option here.

Sounds so easy it's almost scary! ? I guess what is also good news, my seat belts have wires connected them to them too!
So at this point, I've not done anything except put the chairs away, there seems to be a plug underneath the seats of my truck to power the functions of the old seats. I think the new seats have heaters but I don't think I'll ever bother with those because I've never thought heated seats ever made any sense.

I am thinking that although the driver seat is nearly perfect, the passenger seat is even better. Maybe I should have the upholstery switched over at least on the bottom.

I can think of many things, and the autocensor is going to block most of them.

Ah! Found this on a post on the forums from 2012:
MY seats are heated with power lumbar. I suggest you tap into a large gauge wire under the dash, and add your own 30 amp fuse.

Passenger:
Black - ground
Black/White - +12v fused 30amp
Grey/Yellow - +12v in run position
Blue/White - +12v fused 30amp (join with black/white wire)

Driver:
Black - ground
Black/White (large gauge) - +12v fused 30amp
Black/White (small gauge) - Ground
Grey/Yellow - +12v in run position
Blue/White - +12v fused 30amp (join with black/white wire)
Red/Black - +12V in run position (join with grey/yellow)
2x Green/Yellow +12V fused 30amp (join with black/white and blue/white)

THE REST OF THE WIRES ARE FOR MEMORY. IF YOU WANT MEMORY SEATS< GRAB THE SWITCH FROM THE EXPLORER DOOR AND CONNECT THE WIRES TO THE SAME COLORS ON THE SWITCH.

DO NOT TOUCH ANY WIRING ASSOCIATED WITH THE YELLOW CONNECTOR

That's it. Lumbar, heat and 6 way power will all work

Love this forum! I flipped it over this afternoon just to take a look and took the insulation off the plug still waiting for the plug from the original vehicle. Only 4 wires just like the copy and paste I did in the above I'm going to hook it up to a battery charger some point I'm tired today, but I'm tired everyday!

EditI'm feeling bold after that I went back down the basement , bared (did not cut) the black and the black white. Hooked up the battery charger all the functions work already! Need to do some more checking of the other wires and functions. Move over rocket science you have a new contender!

Guess now if I wanted.. I'd just add a wire for the seat heat from the battery. maybe Ron will know of a better place in my 94 ranger. I'll never use the seat heat but I would be nice to have working if I were to sell the truck someday.
