For a minute I thought you'd rigged up the automatic climate control in your Ranger!

Well I’m just about ready to put the 5.0 in my truck. Waiting on my new engine mounts to show up! Even got the rear end swapped.

My credo
Break it right the first time. Fix it better the next time.
What mounts are you using?

Okay. I was wondering because the stock mounts work.

That’s what I thought. Passenger side for sure.

Yep the pass side is no problem. The studs on the driver's side are reversed for some reason. So you have to use the expo lower mount on that.

Good deal! I'm running a little behind. Got all my engine parts painted, but misplaced the harmonic balancer bolt. Should have a replacement here on Thursday if I don't find it sooner. With a little luck I'll get the assembled engine and trans into the truck on Saturday, then another week or so to remember how to connect everything else.

I set mine in last night. I didn’t paint much. But I did acid wash everything. I do plan on getting a built crate motor at some point.

It seemed like a waste not to paint it since it ended up getting torn down for a rebuild.

I still want to get a set of the Torque Monster headers, but don't see that happening before the installation and simultaneously staying married.

I haven't been brave enough to try but I hear forgiveness is easier to get than permission. :icon_thumby:

I agree. I would have painted mine had I rebuilt it. I did a compression test and changed the plugs. All looked good.
I will be putting headers on mine. I bought them already. They sure are proud of them. But I’m happy with what showed up.

Let me know how the install process goes. Curious to hear how long it takes to get them jammed in and bolted down.

Divorce may be worth it for the headers. I have been contemplating the same scenario myself. :D:headbang:
