I just got finished installing an AC system out of a 99 ranger in my 97, but I can't get it to work correctly. Im pretty sure it is a wiring problem, but I dont really know where to start looking for it. When I turn on the AC switch on the dash, the pump doesn't turn on, but the idle goes up and then the WOT relay starts clicking on and off. However, if I have the high pressure switch unplugged, it goes into high idle and the WOT relay does not click on. It acts the same way if I bridge the pins on the high and low pressure sensors. The clutch does activate if I jump it. The positive wire running to the pump is supplying power, but the negative isnt working. If I remove the WOT relay and try to jump it to activate the AC clutch, it blows fuse #18.
Basically all I know is that the clutch is good, and WOT relay is good, and both of the pressure switches are good. Im out of ideas.
