I replaced the camshaft, lifters, push rods and the heads worked. After reassembly I have no spark. There's no power from the PCM to the distributor. I have no power to the start, run or coil feeds to distributor. I do however have power at the coil. I do have the 4.5 volts to the pip circuit. Oh I forgot to mention that I replace the timing chain and gears. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may have caused this problem. I'm more than certain that the motor is not 180 degrees out. But I asked if it were would that be the reason I have no spark. I have checked the EEC circuit and it is fine. I also replaced the ECM with no luck

The timing being 180 out won't give you no spark, it will give you spark at the wrong time.

It sounds to me like there is something still unplugged. Go back and run your wires again and look for an orphaned plug.

I have looked and looked for an orphaned plug but can't find one. Thanks for the suggestion though

I had a similar problem. It ended up being a connection. The o-ring had dried out and would twist up and not allow full contact. I finally found it after a couple months and fixed all my plugs with some di-electric grease.

Dielectric grease is good but the pins need to be clean too. I've been plagued with corroded connections so make sure you use electric connector cleaner too.

I'd put money on the connectors being the issue.

If you haven't replaced your ICM (you called it the PIP?) you should consider it. Focus should be on that since it signals to your ignition to fire.

to prevent Found On the Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily
Yrs ago I bought a "pen" of De-Oxit. It is the bee's knees for contact cleaning. 26 yr old wiring is brittle and often frayed or going green at the ends. It is fine until disturbed. The big cables needed fixing on the Rat after I dropped the starter to do the clutch. So did a few wires that I unplugged to fix the frame. If a car is off the road for any length of time it becomes a chipmunk townhouse. They raise Cain with wiring. and like to use the CAI for acorn storage. :D
