im swapping in a 1995 sterling 10.25 into a 1999 ranger and was wondering if any disk brake parts from newer 10.5 housings are compatible or what is needed to convert to discs besides shelling out 500 for a kit. also if i can just use a proportioning valve instead of swapping master cylinders. thanks

ok, after alot of searching i found a relativly inexpensive solution. ruff stuff offers a bracket kit for only 50 bucks. here's the ad...(Here you are, an easy bolt on bracket for the Sterling axles! This one also uses the GM Caliper ('73-87 3/4 Ton 4x4 Front with the MKD153 pads) because it is 1/2 the cost of the Ford and way less expensive to put together than the wedge system. The rotor is a '96 Ford E350 Van Rear rotor. These were a long time coming but way worth the wait. However there is of course an exception to the rule here. In '94 Ford changed the inner bearing width changed and to use this with the later years a 1/8" spacer would be required. All of our brake brackets are sold in pairs)....Ill let everyone know how they turn out. still curiouse about the proportioning valve issue??

in 95-97 (possibly newer) rangers the master cylinder used is the same as the master cylinder used on 4 wheel disc brake explorers, so master cylinder swaps is not necessary
