so i've decided to go coils on my d30 swap. I'm getting xj lift coils this week and hopefully will be ordering joints, tube adapters, and misalignment spacers from ballistic fab this weekend. i'm ordering 7/8" shank with 3/4" bore joints and 3/4 to 5/8 misalignment shims. i believe those should be big enough. i've looking at a ghetto fabbed B2 that used tractor links and i was gonna just use those but upon some great advice said that they will wear out and be sloppy. i'm hoping these will be higher quality. they are the economy ones but they should be better than farm ones. i want this to be a clean good looking budget build. i'll take tons of pics because i can't find any decent pics of some of the sweet builds on here that show the difficult parts... well i'm excited and i'm gonna stop rambling

picked up another d30 last night. this one has 4.10's in it!! so now begins the hunt for the elusive ford 8.8 with 4.10s... i'll do some research but if anyone could tell me what kind of explorer/ranger i should be looking for it would be much appreciated

been a while but i got an update took the lift out and put a d35 in the front... don't think i'm gonna actually put the third member in the front though cuz after selling the lift i have funds for SAS parts. here is some eye candy

I HATE HOW TINY IT IS... it has some power now though, now that the tires are the correct size....

look for 95+ explorer sports....ive seen a few in the yards

hey thanks... do you happen to know what part of the master cyl, if not the whole thing, i need for the proportioning valve part? or what it looks like (dumb question i know but we don't sell and can't get them at work) so i have no clue

alot of people just swap the axle and not the master and have no problems....but if you really want to jut grab the master off the same vehicle and it will work

i was under the impression that the 95 and newer had disc rears and that if you hook up the lines to a non disc rear system it will lock up the rears. the proportioning valve is supposed to give less pressure to the rear so they don't lock up.

Like the work on your truck:icon_thumby:
Any pics of the swapped front end? I'd keep the stock braking system and see how it went before spending more $ on unnecessary parts. I think you're right about the newer proportioning valves. Disc brakes run higher line pressures.

the swap is pretty straight forward. yank out tiny D28 and insert D35... i will say that in the second picture my 33's were touching the ground when i took them off and look how much space is under the tires now... it rides like sh*t with explorer springs and has like no travel at all.... when i back up the springs actually push the top of the tires out so my front end looks like this \---/ but it travels fine going forwards so whatever...

hey thanks... it don't look good anymore though its too small ha ha give me a couple months to do the swap and she will be sittin pretty again!!

My fault- I thought I saw in the thread that you were swapping in a Dana 30. Yeah the 35 is like the bigger brother to the 28:icon_thumby:
