I think he was going for "rednecktified" 2 stage spring, but didn't have the cash to invest in King Coilovers!![]()
Haha yeah i have no idea what the guy was thinking!
Been researching on an engine swap. And it's the 4.0L Cologne OHV V6 or in 97 the 4.0L SOHC or the 5.0L V8 [ 302 ]
I know for the 5.0 in 96 the 4R70W transmission was standard, but was there ever a manual transmission that bolted up to it?
i 2nd that, rebuild what u have or go V8. Its just as much work droping a newer 4.0 in as do a 5.0 swap.Someone correct me if I am wrong, but not in an exploder. But the 5.0L bolts up to M5OD-R2 from an F150 and I believe a ZF-5 from 3/4 and 1 ton early 90s Fords. I think the F150 tranny and 1356 t-case would be the easiest route for a manual, but I think the 1356 t-case is a bit wide for the frame. This means creativity on your part. And you'll probably have to do something about your drive shafts.
IMO, i'd either rebuild what you have or bite the bullet and go V8. I personally wouldn't take the time to swap anything else in because I would just wished I put a V8 in![]()
