Worst Ford Vehicles ever made

The 80's Escort "Pony" with the 4 speed manual trans was pretty horrible. We had two different ones. I don't know what Ford was thinking when they geared the transmission so freakin' high. They could hit 45 or so in 1st and 80 in 2nd before the rev limiter would kick in.:shok: 4th gear was nearly useless. We ended up junking them both when the clutches went out. Wonder effin' why? Oh, wait, it could be cause you practically had to smoke the clutch to pull out.:annoyed: Real fun to drive in city traffic.

I don't think ford has any particularly bad vehicle, everyone has their different likes and dislikes and no two vehicles are the same due to owner habits and climate driven.

This thread is redundant in my opinion.

That is pretty much what I came to as well.

Although their farm equipment is very strangely put together, I find it ironic that being as big into Fords as I am I cringe when one comes it at work. We are overhauling a Ford utility tractor at work right now, I dare to say the reason they are so short is because you can only stack crap so high. They are great when they work and that is why they are as common as they are, but they played by nobody's rules when the designed them. In some areas it would have done them A LOT of good to look over the fence.

I don't know why whenever someone mentions bad cars, the Gremlin and Pacer always come up. Yeah, they were unusual looking, but the were far from bad. The 232 & 258 I6's were some of the best North American engines ever built. Yeah, both were only about 90-100hp, but that was typical of that era, crisises and stuff. 75 Pacers did have a few glitches, but they were worked out by 76.

The Pacer had all those windows & kids liked to break them (worse than owning any convertible). The Gremlins were okay; Quite a few were hot rodded out to the max-

i heard they were cramped, underpowered, uncomfortable, and overall hard to work on

I liked my Pinto ........ I had a 73 Squire 2 door wagon with a transplanted 289/4spd
Had green shag carpet in the back to go with the green seats...... we called it the Shaggin waggin........
