Worst Ford Vehicles ever made

whats wrong with the tempo?

Mine's been a reliable car. Drove it to Columbus OH and back on a tank of gas, and still got to work and back for 4 days with an 3 speed ATX 2.3L HSC. I got around 27mpg, not great, but not bad either. Never stranded me, I've had 2 Tempos over the span of 6 or 7 years, both were/are good beater cars.

Pinto. No question. Absolute worst vehicle.

Stock...yes. Most of my buddy's took out that stock gas tank, put in a smaller tank from a Chevy Vega and reinforced the rear area by welding and gusseting the frame area to make it stronger and safer. Next step....adding a V8 and the pinto made cool street/drag cars back in the 70's and 80's. Just like the Chevy Vega with a V8 in it....light weight and fast as crap.

Would that be built ford tough with chevy stuff? :icon_rofl:

Dude, no mention of the Windstar? Biggest POS to ever wear the blue oval.

My old man had a Pinto with a 351C in it. :icon_thumby:

I remember seeing a near mint Edsel on Ebay some years back. It went for a lot of money. They are rare now. If you say thay are common where you are you need to get a nice one and sell it and make some money.

there 3 for sale on the local craigslist around me, there used to be 10 at one point in time..

the reason i didn't get it because of part avalibility, imagine the guys at autozone trying to find parts for one lol.

I see your Fiesta and raise you a Festiva!

Weren't Festivas actually a hyundai? I saw someone make one into a mini truck once, and it was bad ass! Lol. A guy at my work has an old fiesta, just like the one in the pic! I didn't even know they made those until I saw it, lol. And windstars were pretty terrible reliablity wise. I don't think I've seen one on the road in about 5 years, and I think they were still making them then! And I had a 2.0L ranger, im pretty sure that's the same motor.... but in a heavier truck. And what happened to mutantpony? He had a lifted v8 pinto. I never thought pintos were that bad compared to something like the windstar. And I too think tempos were terrible as with any other car that was ugly, mercury always made it uglier than the ford version.

What was wrong with the early 5.4s?

So I guess driving down the highway and having a spark plug spontaneously lodge itself in the underside of your hood doesn't constitute a problem for you.

Wasnt that Fords early attempt at a fuel saver system? It would shut down cylinders at random. :icon_rofl:

kia, actually. a mazda 1.8 will bolt right up to the trans and make it a 15 second car too haha.

Festiva are actually mazdas assembled by Kia, and they are damn tough. Mine has over 350,xxx so does a friend of mines and that is quiet the norm for them. Also the windstar may have had some issues but I had a 3.8l windstar that went through me and 2 brothers learning to drive and being typical teenagers in it before mom drove it for a month low/out of oil and it threw a rod at over 200,xxx.

Worst Ford, I would have to nominate the late 70-early 80s Fox Granadas, I was going to buy one to build as a sleeper but in stock form they are horrible in every way.

Everyone knocks the mustang II but guess what it was the same damn concept as the 64.5 mustang take an average econo car make it affordable and put a little pep in it (Don't believe everyone who is clueless, they did have V8s even they weren't very powerful)

Same concept? They forgot the part about looking good, and they certainly didn't put the pep in it.
