6 Inch Lift Questions

Any thoughts on small welds on the new cross members on the BDS 6 inch lift. Particularly where the cross members attach to the frame with the new bolts.

Certainly can't hurt to do that if you're worried about it moving around if you, say, bang it into a rock (you'd have to bang it pretty hard though)...

What I always do is sand the paint/powdercoat off around the bolt holes. This also helps things stay in place better. These areas can be repainted/undercoated after assembly if you're worried about rust.

Did you happen to notice if the spacers were exactly half the thickness of their claimed lift amount? (if so, this would confirm a ~2:1 motion ratio)

I got a 1.5" level from Truxxx. I didn't measure them before installation but I know they weren't 1.5" tall themselves, probably half that. Because geometry. They have 2.5" and 3.0" kits too.

FWIW, if anyone is thinking about a level or a little more lift I highly recommend Truxxx.
Laser-cut powder-coated steel and very stout. Had their 2.5" front/1.25" rear kit on my old Sport Trac, it's the only lift available for Gen 2 Tracs, was happy with it so I got their level for the Ranger. Some of the spacers I've seen look like sheetmetal.
