Wanna swap a 4.0 in my 90 bronco 2. But use existing 2.9 transmission. I have a 2004 4.0 from an automatic. Can I bolt my 2.9 flywheel to that year 4.0? And make it work? I read somewhere that the flywheel/ pressure plate bolts or bolt holes were different?

That's a negative on the flywheel... 6 bolt vs 8
2004 should be a 4.0 SOHC. I haven't tried, but apparently it's much harder to fit under the hood of early trucks due the extra width for the cams.
What do you plan to use for electronics to run it? I can't imagine getting the 04 computer to be happy in a 90 body would be easy either. Tho I know the SOHC will run on an OHV computer.
