Will HID's melt the fog light housings of my 06 ranger???

I hope these are a desent kit(http://www.vvme.com), cause that's a darn good price.

I just bought 2 sets. 9007 for my headlights, H3 for my projectors

I went with the 6Ks, cause i want the light more than the color.

I'll put up some pics once i get em in.

Let me know how that works out for you, I have the same headlight setup.

Thanks!

i run a set of HIDs in my dodge an i like them. unfortunately i replaced a burt out one with just a slightly different one and it melted the housing, and started letting water seep in. as long as you get the right ones they will be fine

There must have been something else going on. I had 1 HID and 1 Halogen in the Fusion during install and turned the lights on and the HID side barely got warm.

I once was running 80 watt low beam halogens in a Lancer and never melted the housing, stock is 50 watt.

yeah that www.vvme.com sight has awesome reliable kits with great ballasts that my friends n I all have and you can get them for pretty much every buld. they single beams which are still awesome are $40 and the high/lows are $80.

sorry to thread jack but i was wondering if any one has a cut off pic of any of the hid's from http://www.vvme.com/. would be helpfull if the pic was with the stock housing.

The kit has nothing to do with the cutoff. The cutoff is the same with any kit in the same housing. The only thing that could go wrong with the cutoff from housing to housing is if you dont get the bulbs seated right.

not really i have seen plenty of different kits put out different cut offssome cheeper kits tend to spread the light out more compared to the more expensive kits that aren't so spread out.

DO UNDERSTAND that for headlamps REAL HID lights require an
entirely different lamp housing, because the HID doesn't have a
"low beam" or a "high beam", that is usually accomplished by a
mechanical shutter.

so there MAY be "conversions" out there that replace 9004, 9006 HB2 and
the like, but they probably aren't inspection legal

Just be sure you don't have them on when you see oncoming traffic, make sure they don't glare.

Technically you need a competely different reflector to maximize performance and reduce glare.

Don't be a DUMBASS and blind people with stupid stunts.

If your dumb enough to glare other people with stupid off road bulbs, and if you pass me, don't stop, because I will, and I am not going to be nice to you.

Kind of a noob idea but I was just kinda brainstorming lol

First would you be able to kinda custom fit your regular lights AND the HID lights in the same housing.

IF SO....

Would you be able to use your High/Low Beam thing in your vehicle set up to where if the high beam light (blue eyeball looki nthing) is on your HID lights are running and when off your regular lights are running.

For the whole oncoming traffic solution?

Then again, I am pretty noob when it comes to this so I may be totally off and that mightve been the worst idea ever lol:)

Will the HIDS melt oncoming drivers' eyes? I think that's happened to me a few times on the road O_o

This topic has me once again considering HIDs' for my Ranger and Kawi KLX. www.vvme.com has an insanely low price and bi-xenon bulbs. Which is great, because thats the kind my KLX takes also. If I do go along with it, I want it for more light than color and will most likely choose the 4300K kit.

I ordered the hi/low kit for my g/f's Dakota on Friday, and had them on Tuesday, un-real from China. Kit went in really really easy, however it looks like for the hi/low to work you need to have a headlight with a light shield in it? So it looks like for the hi/low kit to work you need to have newer style lights since it just moves the bulb in and out so i guess it re-directs the light to different areas on the reflector? or did i just not get the shield? Has anyone else had this problem? High beams on or off no difference. I checked all connections, but that is my conclusion moving the bulb in a stock style lens won't do anything to the focus?

Thanks for any input!

oh and I got the 4300k and they are bright as HELL awesome lights! I have yet to ride in it with them on, but my g/f said the road looks insane, and they kick on almost instantly, like 10 sec at most for max light. I def recommend these kits.

I ordered my kit for the Kawasaki KLX on Tuesday. The KLX takes a H4 (9003) bulb, which has a shield for the low beam and no shield for the high beam. And the focal point is only forward for low beams, or back for high beams. The 9007 bulb looks to be tricky at adjusting the beam, so I'll leave the Ranger with the Silverstar bulbs.

Kinda of surprizing when I did order, that the product is coming straight from Bejing China.
