I am looking for recommendations on a JB Weld or similar that can weld a nut on a metal sheet so that I can screw in a bolt. Which JB weld or similar is know to result in a metal like weld? Was reading about J-B Weld SteelStik, is this known to cure as such?

While installing a running board one of the funny nuts that gets jiggled into the inside of the chassis frame broke off. I tried a regular epoxy type glue but it broke off while gently hand tightening. It needs a stronger metal like cured bond.

Its a last ditch thing, it is really hard to glue metal together.

Get it as absolutely clean as you can.

You need a riv- nut or nut-sert tool...

Steelstick gets really hard, but trying to bond a nut in place to mount a running board is very likely beyond its capability. Really clean and ideally cross-hatched sanding scratches to give it something to bite to would be the best possible chance of working, but even that probably won’t hold. You need an actual mechanical connection like a riv-nut/nutsert or actual welded or something.

It's actually a rivnut that got messed up. I will get a kit to do this job right. Thanks guys!
