I just saw this years lineup of the Unreal Adventure and it has six Jeeps. There's only one Ford and it was in UA before several years ago.

I'm really flippin tired of seeing Jeeps and Toyota's and very little Ford representation these days. ESPECIALLY from Ford Ranger owners. What the hell happened to you guys? I know @RaceRanger97 has a pretty badass 4X4 Ranger that I'd put up against any of the UA rigs, and @PlumCrazy has been working on a daily off-roader but there has to be more.

Does nobody build Ford Rangers for serious off-roading anymore? What are we even doing here??

I'm not throwing shade at anyone here. Maybe I haven't noticed your build.

Show me. Show me some off-road builds. Restore my confidence in the Ford Ranger off-road community.

That is a pretty interesting event:

I guess I should have linked to that.

I'd say this means that they aren't serious offroad builds because it means no hydro, no stickies, and no beadlocks, at least not legally

Now I'm crying.

Sure, I found a couple old age issues on this recent trip.

But,
But,
BUt...

I would love to build a serious 4x4 rig. I just dont have the funds haha. I know Brian Ramsey has the "Mutt" Don't know his screen name. Oh and nobody can leave out @bobbywalter and his rigs. Oh, @Curious Hound has a pretty rugged TTB build haha. Ive actually been approached by the folks at the Red Clay Rally about putting together a Ranger group. It crossed my mind but faded after the turnout for The Ranger Adventure in May.

LETS SEE THOSE BUILDS !!!

Even my intended off road rig (G - Unit) won't measure up for this kinda stuff.

For me... it's ok. I don't have the energy nor desire the break it on the weekends just to fix it all week.

I plan start building a fresh rig geared towards this type of event in the next few years (when work settles down and our puppy needs less super vision)

Reading through the rules, my old rig would need some upgrades that I'm not willing to waste time doing on it (mostly the roll cage part)

Plan is to box the frame and cage this chassis/body. Refresh the drivetrain from my current SuperCab rig, and link it front and rear using my current D44/8.8 combo. Keep it stripped to basic necessities (no power windows, AC, blah, blah) and run some less aggressive tires on aluminum bead locks.

I have run hydro assist and bead locks for years on the street, but I do hate burning up good tires on the asphalt. For an event like this I would for sure downsize tires or at least switch to something less aggressive than TSLs/Boggers and change my wheeling style a bit.

  • Rollcage (common sense rules – this is not a motorsports event but something that will securely protect occupants in the event of a rollover – subject to inspector’s discretion)

I would check before I hauled something out there but it sounds like maybe they just want something... not like a topless Jeep or Bronco with only a windshield for protection.

Looking at this year's list... I kinda don't think everyone has a real rollcage. Especially the old white Toyota pickup.

Your's has never been serious. It's always cracking jokes and making faces at people.

I can't afford to have a dedicated rig that has to be towed to the event. Nor do I have the room to store one when it's not in use.

Don't forget @Ryan. Oh wait, that's not a Ranger or RBV. Nevermind....

He's already been on here whining like a old Ford power steering pump because his isn't street legal or some nonsense like that.
