What did YOU do today?

It’s more like Masonite than MDF, but yeah, it was still wood veneer back then when your place was built.
It wouldn't surprise me if Masonite was used by some manufacturers. But, that product just deteriorates over time. I watched several videos on the construction of these doors. Some of them appear to use that rubbery flexible composite board. This article mentions MDF skins that are bonded to the frames with PVA (wood glue).

I did some cleaning of the interior of the 2019 yesterday and cleaned the windows on the softopper today. I also installed the L track on the deck panels for the drawer box. Tomorrow, I'll start tearing them apart so I can sand the wood and start the process of sealing and priming the whole thing. I would like to get it all painted as well but with as cool as it has been all of a a sudden, I'm not sure the paint will be fully cured by the time we go to Cass for the fall foliage event.

Started on my other 8N hood, for being rusty its sure heavy. Still have the lower sections to do, they are a bit beat up but more solid than replacement ones would be.

The big name mass produced houses around here don’t care about deterioration. They don’t care about anything except slapping up a big house as cheaply and fast as possible and charging a premium for it. I call them wet tissue paper houses. They have actually been responsible for some of the building codes because they were “drywalling” houses with 1/4” thick drywall on the walls (code calls for 1/2” minimum except an attached garage is 5/8” unless you’re going over like plaster or something).

Picked up the cute little brunette (ump-teenth class reunion) at the Kiss Ride on the MARTA rail from the airport in Big Red.

I recently found out that rust is formed when oxygen attaches to iron. There is actual weight to oxygen! The two combined weigh more than than when seperate.... Who would have guessed... 😉

Spent the weekend (Thursday night until I left at like 1pm yesterday) at the tractor pull grounds, was a good weekend! The track was pretty sticky, a lot of drivelines got broken, more than normal and even on big $$ stuff... The wife didn't want to pull the explorer and I'd just put work into it so I went home for a shower and to pick it up, got second out of 5... was beat by a square body chevy with a 350 (100% stock rig) but beat a 4.7L powered Durango by 3ft and a 302 powered F150 by like 40'... my friend in a 4.0L Grand Cherokee got last... Don't think anything broke, to me it sounds like the drivers side CV is going but my mechanic buddy says sway bar bushing, since 3 out of 4 bushings are broken I'll try that first...

I got one deck panel disassembled, the metal sanded and prepped for priming and paint. All the metal for that panels has been primed. I'm thinking black for the metal, since the L track is already black, and a medium shade of gray for the wood. All in flat so it shows less dirt, scratches, and scuffs.

Monday’s adventure. Used the Ferguson to pull dad’s F-150 out of the garage on a tow bar

Dare I say it?

Since I'm not tracking where you're headed, and I'm stupid, shoot...

EDIT: Never mind. It took a second. I'm already on it, but in spray can form. Atleast for the metal parts. I'm leaning towards roll on for the wood after the wood gets sanded.

had my shielding gas cylinder refilled today.
yesterday the tank was tested & certified in Holly Michigan.
I've had this cylinder for over 15 years, this is the first refill. up until recently I did very little welding.

I'm disappointed in you guys about yesterday's post. though for sure a few foul fun comments would be posted.
