Wheelin Meet This Winter

damnit. I had a whole post typed out, got side tracked and left my room, then my mom closed the broswer when she got on...

Anyway, I kinda got the kart running. I think something's up with the auto-choke (has a primer). It's just a lawn mower motor basicly, so it's nothing hightech. But, it is really hard to start, and once you get it running, it will not rev up very high (choke staying on?), hardly enough to make it move with the CV clutch that it has.

My cousin might be getting a motor for his gokart, in which case he'd give me the CR250 motor that somebody put in his!! That would fun!

And, I was just talking to my cousin, and he said he probably won't be done with his Scout by Saturday. Last I heard, he didn't have too much to do though. just weld in the spring perches, plumb the fuel lines, and seal up the top, and install the gears in his axles, but a guy he works with was going to help him do that, since he's done gears quite a few times.
If he doesn't get it done, he will still be there, he'll just be either riding with me, or riding his dirt bike, one or the other.

We should start a random BS thread in here. It seems like all the topics tend to stray away form thier orginal subject, lol

My friends and I put a Honda CM400 motor in a full cage cart a little while back, so we're waiting for some more snow. :icon_thumby:

You guys didn't get any snow??

We got an inch or two here in Enumclaw, but it is all on the side of all the houses... There is some strong wind up here right now! It's 28 degrees, and with the wind chill, I wouldn't doubt at all that it is pushing 5 or 10 degrees, if that.
The roads were pretty fun though, untill about 10:00. After 10, enough people had driven on them, that it was a sheet of ice in alot of places. It was still fun to drive on, but the steering and brakes weren't quite as responsive, lol.

Oh there's about 1 1/2" on the ground at my house, and we aren't far from the water... we're just at a high enough elevation. We'll probably get more though over the course of the next few days.

Ah, so yours hasn't been blown off the ground yet?
We have a ton of snow drifts up here right now, only 8-10 inches deep, but there's alot of them.

Ever work out your 4.0L/ Explorer deal? Are you just gonna be riding with a buddy or something?

Nope, it's still on the ground.

I got my truck running, it just burns a lot of oil, and the power steering still doesn't work. I need to get it re-registered and back on insurance. I'll be working this week, so everything should be good. I'll also have my 2 buddies in Yotas going.

I've wheeled without power steering before, and it's not bad, I'll just have to be careful about my hand placement when trying to climb over stuff. Trying to get up Broken Axle hill in June, I had the wheel torn out of my hands a few times, and that was a little freaky.

Yeah, those wheels will break your fingures REAL easy if your not carefull...

That is one of the things my dad always pounded into my head about wheeling, neveer grip the wheel with your thumb/ fingures inside the wheel, becuase when it whips around, it doesn't care if your fingures are there or not.
He has swollen thumbs a time or two from our old Samurai we had for a while.

Yeah, I take a little extra time picking a line. I had a blown driver's side hub then too, and I'm gonna try to borrow one from my buddy's 94 since he's not coming. Then I can truly test that locker. :yahoo:

If you want to make an auto hub in the Safeway parking lot, Ihave all the parts, lol. Although LoanRanger snagged a couple hub parts today, I think I still have the parts to make a comeplete D35 auto hub.

Nah, I'll just borrow one from my friend... mine are manuals anyway. Thanks though.

Never had 'em.:icon_thumby:

Lucky bastard, lol !!

Just curius, anybody have a video camera?
I think it'd be cool to catch some things on video.

Like, set the camera somewhere pointing down the trail as we all drive by.
Just a thought.

we got about 3 inches of snow in oregon city. we are at about 500ft or a little less. i was driving up a road that sidehills this steep hill near my house and some f-n retard in a F350 was driving down the center of the road TEXTING! now there is no shoulder on that road so i was freakin out cuz i had no where to go... the bronco drives really nice in the snow, even in 2WD

i have a digital camera and like 2gb memory card. i got a 8gb card just so i could take wheelin videos but it's supposed to be a stocking stuffer. if i manage to make it up there on saturday i'll see if i can talk my gf into letting me take the 8gb card. with 2gb i can take like 16 min of video or like 1000 pics at 8 megapixels
