Wheelin Meet This Winter

Ok, I'm pretty sure I'll be riding with my buddy in his 95 Yota since shit has fit the fan in the money department. But I'll be there with (his) camera in hand.

I just got news from the Quadrapaws (group that does the work out there) that there is a new trail. :icon_thumby: It's called the Yellow Jacket or something along those lines, but that's all I know for now. I'll update if I find out anything more.

Cool!

I think I heard something about that trail a while ago, or I heard that name somewhere I think, it sounds familiar.

And a side note, for those of you that are coming/ going across the Narrows Bridge, remember that there is a toll on the East bound direction (towards Tacoma, going home). As far as I know, it is $2 per axle. A normal car/ truck is $4, and atruck with a double axle trailer, is $8 (if I remember right)

Ok, it's called Yellow Jacket Saddle and it's at the top of Broke Axle Hill I guess. Apparently it's for the built, but not that built rigs, so we should have some fun on it.

And yeah, if taking the Narrows Bridge, the toll is $4 for a truck, just one way though.

I will probably end up being in Belfair around 9. I don't know if me and my dad are going to grab something to eat once we get there or what. Either way, I'll probably need to head into Safeway, so I may be one of teh first ones there, haha.

Damn... Time to do the homework I've been procrastinating on since Monday... Had a no school today, so I didn't have to have it done, and tmorrow we may have another, but I'm going to do it anyway... This senior project has to be the stupidest things I've had to do in school, ever!

dude, they are enforcing senior projects up there too? my class (07) was the first year down here, that was required to do it and they didn't know what the hell they were doing with it either so we were the guinea pigs and got away with what ever we wanted if we just argued with the administrators over it. i didn't even finish my project and did all the write ups and passed with an A-... good luck. what you doin for your project? hopefully workin on the ranger right?

good news is that i got some funds and i will be attending... as far as i know the jeep is still down so it should just be me.

my uncle lives in banks, oregon and i was over there last night helpin my dad fix the 4WD on his explorer and they got 8-10" of snow just in the 5 hours while i was there.. my dad says they have 16" of snow or more now this morning total

Yeah, we have to do the project...

My school has had to do it for a while. 6-7 years they were doing it...

I am doing a hydrogen injection/ substitution thing for the project, so yeah, it does kinda have to do with the truck. I would do something else to the truck, but with the requirements we have to do, the hydrogen thing is easiest. We have to do 15 hours of either working on the project, or job shadowing. And we have to talk with somebody who is in that field (I'm talking to two of the chemistry teachers).
Not to mention the lack of funds to do anything major to the truck. The whole thing I'm doing MIGHT cost 40-50 bucks. And if it doesn't work, the project still counts, and if it work, well I get better fuel mileage which makes up for that $40-50.

Ya I don't know if were going to make it because my mom and dad dont want to go over the Tacoma narrows when its frozen but i am gonna talk to them tomorrow to see what they say so idk:dunno:

Honestly, everytime I've gone over the bridge, it has been just fine. I've gone over it when the road was frozen before too. Not snowy frozen, just below freezing with ice on the road.

Damn, G.I Joes doesn't have anything for 4wd's, or the type of camping I do, on thier site... I got a gift card for G.I Joes from work as a Cristmas gift today, but I have no idea how much the card has/ is.. It says see store for balance, lol.

I am thinking maybe one of those tents that you can put in the back of the truck.

I don't know if "fits most compact trucks" means Ranger or not though. And it doesn't have any specs, just that.

I'm hearing one hell of a storm is gonna be rolling in on Saturday, and if that's true, I may likely be out since my friends and I would rather not get stuck in Belfair. It could just be speculation, but with what we've seen so far, I'm not really doubting it.

I've heard it was supposed to be coming in on Saturday evening/ night.

Anybody else in the same boat? TurboCat, I doubt your going, if you'd just be going over for a short while?

I should still be going.
I think the roads should be fine. I-5 and the highway goign to Bremeton (hwy 16 I think) will probably have enough travel on them that they'll be clear.

DEFFENTALY some snow wheeling... Might even need to do some wheeling to get over there, here in Enumclaw. All the roads are comepletely white, but it looks like one of the main backroads is startign to melt off.

Yo,
I will be there. I am just debating trailering the rig or driving it. I will probably just drive the truck down.

Personally, if I had the option, I would drive it rather than tow. Towing a trailer is that much more wieght to slow down if you have to. And there's the hitch in the middle, so it might not stop straight.
That's my thought, but then agian, I've never towed a trailer either.

I was just looking at the DOT cameras, and the roads look like they're just bare and wet, with slush/ snow on the sides of the road.

Yo,
Yeah, I would only tow if i knew the roads were really good. My truck is just fine to drive down. I am always worried about breaking something and being delayed.

I just looked at the roads near the hood canal bridge, and they look surprisingly clear. I think I'll just drive the truck though.

Yeah the storm is supposed to be coming in Saturday night, but a storm watch is in effect all day... We'll likely still be there though. I don't really want to miss this, I'm bummed enough that I'm not driving.

so more great news. i drove my bronco last night out playin around... ran fine. got in it this morning to take my gf to work and it just sat there clicking... like a dead battery. i jumped it and it ran fine to the bank... about 2 miles. came out of the bank and it just clicked... i hooked up the jumper cables to a honda crv and it wouldn't even turn over. so we tried pushing it to the wet pavement to push start it but couldnt get enough grip to push it. i''m thinkin it is just the battery is weak and/or dead... could be starter but it is just over six months old (about) so i don't know... i thinkk i'm gonna take my jeep down and try to jump it again to get it home. i'll let you guys know if i get it go ing again tonight other wise i'm out. i dont wanna get stranded 3.5 hours away from home with a massive storm on the way, ya know?
