what's a good brand of work boot

I currently have PRO series steel toed boots that I bought over a yr ago from Sears. They are very comfortable & are doing very well for wear. My best boot & longest lasting was a pair of Danner's. They lasted a total of 8 yrs. After 5 yrs I had them resoled. That pair of Danners was nearly $300

Evenings (4-6 hrs) KEEN Portlands w/ steel tops
Wet days, I wear Servus rubber boots w/ steel tops

I've been wearing New Balance shoes for years. They all used to say Made in the USA. Not the case anymore, you have to watch them. I had a pair that said something to the tune of "Made in China with US components".

The NB factory did move most of its Operations overseas, I think 2 factories stayed behind. Mine does say Made in USA of imported materials-

I just got some Georgia boots. I haven't worn boots in a long time, and never have worn them all day every day until just recently.
I'll never do any kind of work without boots again.

The ones I got are the Athens model. They're not safety toe or anything, just slip-on and water proof. They're as light as a pair of tennis shoes, too.

Carolina 1399. I got mine 13 years ago and wore them for 10 years before replacing them with Carolina 3510. Problem is, the 1399 is so damn comfortable that I still wear them. Almost all of the stitching is gone and there are flaps of leather hanging out, much of the steel toe is exposed and they are older than my oldest child but I still wear them. I haven't had a vehicle longer than these boots (which I am wearing, incidentally) and my wife has thrown them away several times but I know to check the garbage before I tie it up. I thought about getting them rebuilt but they are far past that now. They look like a couple of dead racoons and I think I should replace them, but it took me since the late 1990s to get them the way I want them so I'm going to wear them for a little while longer now.

I thought the 3510s are more for church and special occasions. I could run a 5K in the 1399s.

I finally picked up my Redwing 3528s, after waiting five and a half weeks for them.

In ten years you'll have them seasoned in machine fluids and properly broken in and your wife will be trying to throw them away because they scare the children.

I don't doubt that, she's always trying to throw old socks away and wouldn't stop bugging me about the boots (I need shoes too). I really wore my old Timberlands into the ground though, there was a hole in the sole I could stick my finger through and my big toe was almost touching the ground.
