What's a 92 Mustang rolling chassis worth???

Thanks Shane. didn't know that.

is that the subframe connectors your talking about?

No, those are different. Ford just riveted these to the floor pan itself. There are some brands of subframe connectors that have floor pan reinforcements though, like Kenny Brown.

These guys below (PPI) have a few of the SSP products you can still get through them. That's where I actually got the pic of the seat reinforcement.

Oh, like my 86 GT I owned for 15 years. I see the dif now. This is my GT at the One Lap of Florida road race in 1987. It has 425 rwh 302 motor in it. I lowered it 3 inches and put on the ground effects and updated the wheels...this was a true 192 mph top speed car. It had a Saleen updated set of gauges and Saleen did my balance and blue printing of the 302 motor. One sick excellent handling car to drive. To me...the 80's were the neatest mustangs!!! So easy to work on as well.

That's a beautiful car. I have that soft spot for the 4-eyes. Mine were definitely beaters in comparison. 91 GT and LX

Except this one really was a beater, though it was my favorite of the 2.

Nothing fancy. 5-lug conversion, fenderwell cold-air kit, 1.7 Crane rollers, underdrive pulley array, 65mm TB/EGR upgrade, 140mph speedo swapout.

I couldn't agree more. They are very amazing cars that respond very well to modifications (mostly the mass air cars).

Jim,

My 100K mi '92 GT 'vert with black leather can go for $5K at most around here, given it's mediocre condition. The thing that makes mine special is that it was the last year before the hyperE pistons, it's got the stock black/black leather, and it's convertible.

Regarding gutted shells, I wouldn't ask for too much over $800. The notch LX are the quickest at the track, without all the frills and extra body trim. I think they are around 350#+ heavier than the verts, and only 150#-ish lighter than the hatches. Everyone else pretty much said the same thing: the only real things that made it special are gone, aside from a genuine VIN. See if you can walk away with $500 payment...

The gauge cluster will be difficult to find indeed, but dashes can be found anywhere.

Build a decent 347 with a tall gear and you'll have a fun streetable car. Or, if you want to keep it stocker, just throw on some GT-40P heads from an Explorer, and junk the constricting cast manifolds. Breathing is the #1 problem with our 5.0's...

I buy most of my stuff from LRS or CJ Pony Parts. CJ has been kicking the shorts out of everyone on prices lately (at least the stuff I need), and they have free shipping. They also have everything at 15% off through the rest of February BTW.

EDIT: Make that 15% off almost everything. It looks like there's a few items not on the sale.

Do you want to race it or drive it?

If it's just going to be a driver, you can find stock hoods and gray/red/blue interiors for free in good condition.

Dang. Where do you shop??

Thanks.

I want the engine/engine bay to look stock SSP. But since I'll have to find an engine and go through it, I might as well have something that's a little faster than stock.

Drag racing is a big deal here. People gut their cars and the stock hoods get trashed. People want cowls. The only interior that's sought after is black. The red is the porno red that people hate so much that they will give it away. Blue and gray fall into the same category because everyone wants a black interior.

This:

honestly?
not a damn thing, it's a foxbody mustang that's been gutted.
everything that ever made it special is gone.
500-800 dollars, tops.

There are a few Mustang parts places that have the SSP stuff.
