What's a 92 Mustang rolling chassis worth???

So you wanna restore it to its former glory?

Good for you! Those cars are getting rarer and rarer.

I found it listed on another Mustang site with more photos:

The car is suppose to be damage free.

The first pic is core support damage that he claims if from the car being pulled or towed. Not wrecked.

The second shows a dent in the roof.

I'm not sure what he's trying to show with the third.

Jim, I don't know if you're at all interested in these photos. My friend (same friend that I talked about earlier in this thread) used to do installs for lights, sirens, and radios for UHP. He took these photos and sent them to me. This Stang is a 92 which UHP still owns. A trooper was shot and killed in it, so they hung on to it. These pics are from 06 or 07 IIRC. Also, there's a pic of the speedometer you're talking about.

I just noticed that speedometer has one more digit than a regular Fox body. I never knew that before.

Here's one for all you Mustang and other car guys;

What's a 1992 Mustang notchback rolling chassis worth that's missing the interior, engine/trans, and hood?

Really, the only thing that makes this car special is that it started life as a Ford SSP (Special Service Package) Mustang for the California Highway Patrol and is now sitting in a garage here in NE Ohio.

Car is supposedly rust and damage free. Someone was going to make a drag car out of it at some point.

A buddy of mine bought a 93 GT rolling body that was mint shape last September for $600. No motor/trans. Clean interior and it had a roll bar added that looked so sweet!! He is putting a big block in it this summer. It has 5 lug aftermarket wheels on it and rear disc with a 4:10 drag pack set up. It is the hatch back edition (is that what you mean by notch back)?

All GTs were hatches.
LXs came in hatch or notch. Notch is a regular coupe with a trunk lid.

This is a notchback FoxBody:

This is a hatchback FoxBody:

is there any documentation to go with the car saying it was a ssp car?

No.

But I know it is. I did some searching on a site for SSP mustangs that have a vin library. CHP bought a bunch in 1992 and they were all in sequential order by VIN because they bought a whole batch. The last six in this cars VIN is within that range, and the DSO number places it as a special order for San Jose California.

However, if you don't have that info....there is nothing SSP left on this car to say it's a SSP.

Also, there is a 4 digit number written with a paint pen on the door jam and there are holes drilled in one side of the front bumper. CHP wrote the cars assigned number on the door jamb and drilled holes on the bumper for the siren speaker mounted behind it.

I appreciate the feedback. Especially from you experienced Mustang guys.

my neighbor used to have one of those mustangs, minus the cop kit. it was surplus and they never added the cop gear but it had the cop tune and the cop speedo.

quick little car, used to get her in trouble.

A guy I work with has one that was never put in service. its a 85 but its a full roller motor. nice car. one of his relative's got the car from a dealship way back when. some how he got it.

All of the ex-UHP cars I've seen have a black plug in the deck lid where the antenna went. Some of them also have a plug in the A pillar where the spotlight was. Obviously this will vary by the agency that used them and what equipment was installed.

At some point Ford started adding reinforcement to the floor pan under the drivers seat because the floor pan can tear (ask me how I know). This will be between the two rear bolts on the drivers seat - I think it's riveted IIRC. Here's a pic:
