What Size Absorbers for Bed Topper

Purchased a used bed topper for my 94 B4000 and the rear glass absorbers were included, but not attached and they do not work.

There are no inscriptions or writing on the absorbers.

They are 17” absorbers.

The gate/glass weighs approx 5.5 pounds.

What absorber pound rating should I purchase?

Welcome.

It sounds like you're needing new lift support gas cylinders. The critical specs will be #1 compressed length; #2 extended length; #3 mounting type; then #4 working pressure rating.

Cylinder diameter is also a factor, and that usually relates to the working pressure, and too big of a diameter may cause fitment problems.

Shop for a replacement by matching the two lengths and the mounting type (#1, #2, #3), and you want a pound rating (working pressure) just over the 5.5 pounds that you measured.
